EC insecticide containing chlorpyrifos and tetramethrin synergised with piperonyl butoxide. For the control
of harmful pests in public health. Immediate knock-down effect and long residual activity

Formulation
METRACID is formulated as an emulsifiable concentrate, containing petroleum solvents. It is easily emulsified in water.

Product properties
The wide sphere of activity of chlorpyrifos allows to use METRACID to control most insect pests infesting urban areas and
farming sites. Moreover, thanks to remarkable efficacy of chlorpyrifos to control mosquito larvae and pupae, METRACID can
also be applied in infested waters at recommended rates and after checking that the waters be free of water fauna.

Main insect pests that can be controlled


METRACID is suitable to conrol both flying and crawling insect pests. Moreover, it is also effective to control insect pests
resistant to pyrethroids.
METRACID is effective in few hours and its effect persists on the surfaces treated for a few weeks (3-4) depending on the type
and frequency of cleaning operations.

Application areas
METRACID is suitable for treatments in the following sites:
- premises in houses, schools, hospitals, public buildings, warehouses and industrial plants in general (in the absence of
directly exposed foodstuffs). The product must be applied onto walls, in cracks and in all those hidden places where
insects find a shelter.
- Outdoor areas and surfaces in general, in urban and rural environments (even in the presence of vegetation)

Usage rates and directions for use


METRACID can be used at rates going from 0.4% to 4% (40 to 400 ml product in 10 litres water). However, as with any
insecticide, usage rates are connected to the type of insect pest to be controlled, to the environment to be treated, to the
presence or absence of people, animals, vegetation, to temperature, humidity, wind speed.
The following chart gives a few possible dilutions based on practice:

Important notice
The application of this product inside buildings should take into account the possible side effects connected to the presence of a
solvent inside the product, involving, therefore, the need to test an inconspicuous area of the surfaces to be treated (especially
delicate ones) and to air the premises treated after application.

Active ingredients toxicity


Chlorpyrifos is toxic to warm-blooded animals; tetramethrin is little toxic whereas piperonyl butoxide is non-toxic

Warning
The use of chlorpyrifos is restricted to skilled personnel. After applications with chlorpyrifos, the premises treated must be aired for at least 6
hours. Absorbing surfaces should not be treated (rugs, carpet etc.). For treatments in places attended by children, all objects should be
removed.
For the proper use of this product, follow the instructions given on the product label. Read and keep the MSDS. Do not contaminate people,
animals, foodstuffs, feeds, beverages and their containers with the product. The producer assumes no responsibility towards third parties. The
user is responsible for any damages resulting from use.
