Measures of central tendency are those measures which enable us to represent a large set of raw
data using a single value so that meaning full essential can be extracted from it.

Numerical descriptive measures provide precise, objectively determined values that are easy to
manipulate, interpret and compare with one another.

Arithmetic mean: The arithmetic mean is the most commonly used central value of a
distribution. It is also referred to as simply the mean; the arithmetic mean is the sum of a set of
observations, positive, negative or zero, divided by the number of observations. If we have n real
