Assessment Task Title: Quality Improvement Plan
1. During placement 5 students are required to complete a Quality Improvement Plan for one quality area of the National
Quality Standards. The student should choose the area to be improved in consultation with the Director- areas for
improvement may already be identified in the current quality improvement guide.
As per the format provided on the ACECQA website http://acecqa.gov.au/ students are expected to:
2. In consultation with the Director, select one aspect of your quality improvement plan and develop a comprehensive and
innovative action plan to implement the identified improvement. As per the QIP format, suggest:

3. With permission from the Director, promote the area that you are planning to make suggestions about improving and collect
feedback from staff, incorporating these ideas into your quality improvement plan. This may take the form of a poster,
informal/formal discussion, staff meetings agenda items, a suggestion box, newsletter item or an event.
4 Provide a copy of your QIP document to the Coordinator and document their feedback and
a. Reflect on the success measures, as identified in Q2.
b. Check that your documentation is accurate and complete.
Documents to submit:
A copy of your QIP (refer to QIP format available on the ACECQA website)
Evidence of seeking feedback about an aspect of quality improvement/s for the service
Evidence of the implementation (photographs, documents, posters, surveys, newsletters, questions
A summary of all feedback, including your self-reflection and responses from other stakeholders including the director and
other educators
1. The student records the information collected during the self-assessment process against the
standards and elements in the NQF Identifying relevant standard/element and regulations in the QIP
2. The student works in collaboration with others to focus on how the key improvements sought will be
reflected in the improvement plan by collecting and documenting feedback from staff
3. The student uses the information gathered in the self-assessment process to inform the creation of the
quality improvement plan
5. The student ensures the self assessment is available to the relevant staff for discussion
6. The student records all of the required information in the quality improvement plan including
