students had looked forward to the
annual “Symphonies for Schools” at the
Walt Disney Concert Hall in Downtown March 26-28
Los Angeles. However, this year was Spring Trip

broadcasted the performance. The April 19
students enjoyed amazing performances
Booster Meeting
by musicians such as Ray Ushikubo, an
exemplary pianist, and John Gonzalez, 6 p.m.
who played the bassoon beautifully.
April 21
Even more incredible and inspiring to the
band and orchestra members was that Recycle 4 Music
many of these accomplished musicians
and composers are high school students. 8:30 a.m.

Symphonies for Schools at the Walt April 22

Disney Concert Hall was an experience that was both visually and audibly pleasing Cherry Blossom
to the students, whether it was the elegant architecture outside the concert hall, Festival
or the stunning music pieces heard inside the concert hall.

Sounds of Music
Some Enchanted
A handful of band and orchestra students performed for junior high schoolers at Evening Tech
Mark Keppel’s annual Science Field Day, while another student explained the

physics behind the production of music. Music performances included well-known
songs, such as Pixar’s Up Theme and classical pieces, such as “Canon in D.” The Some Enchanted
junior high school students enjoyed the performances and were hopefully inspired Evening XIII
to pursue music at their school and eventually in high school!
