Mnemonica - Any Card Called For PDF

This document describes Juan Tamariz's Mnemonica stack and method. The stack contains 4 key cards that divide it into 4 groups. Each group contains a series of productions that allow the performer to control and reveal specific cards through cuts, spells, and counts. The productions are repeated for each card position within the groups to enable calling any card from the stack through memorized sequences.

Mnemonica

Any Card Called For

Juan Tamariz’ Mnemonica is the first stack to which I adapted the principle
used in my own stack.
As in my stack’s version, you have 4 key cards. 5♠ and 9♣ have a «  mini
wave » at the centre of their inner edge. 8♦ has a corner crimp (downward) on its
inner left corner (when the card is face down). Finally, 9♦, the last card of the
stack, is a breather crimp, so you can cut under it.
These keys create four groups, numbered from 1 to 4. Group 1 (4♣ to 6♠)
has no key, and contains 15 cards; group 2 (5♠ to 8♦) has a key at its beginning
and another at its end, and contains 14 cards; group 3 (5♣ to A♣) has no key, and
contains 14 cards; finally, group 4 has a key at its beginning and another at its end,
and contains 9 cards.
Here are some productions repeated in each group.
• « 1st card »: Because it’s the 1st card of its group, you just have to cut at a
key to bring that card on top. This can be a production in itelf. You can also
perform another production once the card is on the top.
• « 2nd card »: Cut the group on the deck. The card is now 2nd from the top
and allows various solutions:
o double lift
o turn the top card face up then perform Hartman’s Blow Away change
• « Last card »: Holding the deck for a Charlier cut, the thumb cut under the
« last card » (thanks to a key). Instead of finishing the cut, the thumb slips
inside the cut, then pulls out, rubbing against the card directly above it.
When the card is half out-jogged, the thumb flips it face up on the deck.
• « SIX », « HEARTS », … : Spell the word in capital letters and show the last
card
• 1-X : Count from 1 to X and show the last counted card
• + : Perform the action described before the « + », and show the next card
