Audi R8

twin supercharger kit

Audi R8 1
 Remove the engine cover for
ease of access.
 Remove all plastic engine
covers
 Remove inlet plenum
 Remove wheel arch liners
 Remove all under trays
 Remove the original air box
and MAF sensors
 Remove secondary air pump
 Remove high pressure pumps
 Remove blades
 Remove front bumper

Audi R8 2
 Remove the vacuum
part of the flap
operation
 Use the flap straps to
hold the standard flaps
in the inlet open
 Leave the solenoid for
the flaps connected
with knock sensor
wires

Audi R8 3
 Disassemble the standard
plenum
 Using the brace bracket
and the phenolic gaskets
re build the plenum
making sure you have a
good seal
 Make sure to retain the
one way valve connected
to the bottom of the
plenum

Audi R8 4
 Remove splitters from the in-
let tract in the cylinder head
 It is advised at this point to
carbon clean the backs of
the valves

Audi R8 5
 Install bolts for
superchargers before
installing front plate
 Install the main front
bracket with the two m8
bolts but leave them
loose till later.

Audi R8 6
 Using blanking covers blank
off the ports that wont be
used. 2 x 12mm, 1 x 8mm
one to the tight under the
throttle and the others to the
right of the left throttle
 Re install the plenum with
new gaskets
 Tighten up the two m8 bolts
that secure the front plate to
the block

 Install the two brace
brackets to the front
bracket and main brace
bracket using the
m6 x 20mm
 Install the superchargers
making sure that the in-
side lines from the su-
perchargers have the
banjos and hoses fitted.
 Tighten supercharger
bolts 18nm

 Remove plastic surround from
cooler
 Remove crash bar

Audi R8 9
 From either side of the middle standard radiator
remove the brackets holding the cooler in place.
Remove the standard rubbers from the brackets and
install them into the new brackets from TTS.
 With the standard and TTS rubbers installed to the
bracket install the standard and TTS charge cooler
pre rad in the standard position.

 Fit the 19mm hose to the pre rad
 Using
Pipe A 19mm
Pipe B 19mm
3 x 300mm 19mm straight pipes
3 x 19mm hockey stick pipes
19mm hose
Connect from the pre rad to the rear
of the car. Making sure you run one
hose down one side of the tunnel
and the other on the other side. To
get the pipe past the front diff you
may need to shorten some mounting
bolts.

 When you have used the
pipes to connect the front of
the car to the rear you
should have two hockey stick
pipes at the front of the
engine bay.
 From the LH side of the
engine bay using the 19mm
hose, connect one end to the
hockey stick and feed the
other up to the top of the
engine bay with the other
standard water pipes. Then
route under the power
steering pot to the rear of
the engine bay.

Audi R8 13
 Place the new charge cooler tray in-
to the rear of the car and check the
fitment. Move wiring harness and
fix to H bar
 Mark for and fit riv-nuts to hold the
tray.
 Once you have good fitment of the
tray mount the charge cooler to
the Tray using the rubber mounts
and fit to vehicle
 Fit Maf’s to charge cooler

Audi R8 14
 Connect the 19mm 90° in the
back left hand corner pointing
to the middle.
 Connect the 19mm pipe on the
left to the 19mm part of the j
pipe in the middle of the
engine bay.
 Using 16mm pipes A,B,C, and D
and the 16mm 90° hoses
connect the j pipe to the inlets
and outlets of the
chargecooler.
 The 19mm outlet on the front
of the chargecooler connect to
the water pump mounted in
the RH wheel arch. Using
19mm hose, 19mm 90° and
19mm 45° hose.

 The water pump is
mounted in the RH
wheel arch
 Use the RH ECU
wiring loom to get a
12v switched power for
the water pump
 Connect the out port of
the pump to the RH
hockey stick in the
tunnel
 Connect the water
pump sub harness to a
switched 12v on the
right hand ECU it is
advised to use an inline
fuse.

 Remove the
secondary air pump
and the pipe work
from pump to valves

Audi R8 17
 Remove bracket that holds the knock
sensor plugs
 Tidy wiring from the flap position
sensor
 Remove p clip from the A/C fill tube

Audi R8 18
 Loosely fit the front bracket
using the m8 bolts provided
making sure to fit the bolts
for the supercharger to the
bracket before installing.
 Check positions of wiring is
away from the pulley
positions
 Fit plenum back into position
and bolt down with new
gaskets

Audi R8 19
 Fit horizontal and vertical
supercharger supports
 Using the m6 x 20mm bolts
mount the front bracket to the
brackets on the plenum
 Tighten up m8 bolts
 Fit superchargers to the front
bracket

Audi R8 20
 Remove the original evap pipe
from the plenum and from the
solenoid
 Using 2 0ne way valves and hose
plumb the new evap piping as
shown

Audi R8 21
 Connect MAF sensors to
throttles with the new TTS
hump hoses

Audi R8 22
 Using hose connect from the
brake servo line plastic 90 to the
inlet pipe on the left hand side
of the engine bay

Audi R8 23
 Install one way valve on
brake servo line
 You can install as shown
in the picture or as is
shown in the diagram
using a 12mm bung

Audi R8 24
 Remove the plastic clips in the
H bar and use cable ties to
hold wiring harness
 Remove the plastic cover
brace from H bar and save
clips for use later with ne TTS
brace
 Trim the oil tank mounting
bracket to help with clearance
and reroute breather house
under H bar
 Re route the breather hoses
on the top left of the oil tank
under the H bar
 Use the new TTS breather
hose and the standard fittings
to replace one of the
breather pipes

Audi R8 25
 Remove plastic inlet pipes
from the wheel arches

Audi R8 26
 Install inlet pipes and air
filters

Audi R8 27
 Install the top
bracket to the oil
coolers and then
fit the 90 degree
fittings
 Fit the bottom
bracket to the
oil coolers. The
bottom bracket
has the corner
trimmed. Trim oil
coolers to suit.
 Mount oil coolers
into the left hand
wheel arch using
bolts provided and
spacer.
 Install all oil hoses
as ROTREX say

Audi R8 28
 Remove LH ECU from behind the blade
 Install new TTS ECU bracket in position
of the STD one using spacer at the top

Audi R8 29
 Remove plug from coolant
lever sensor (this means
that you will have to check
the fluid level regularly)
 Connect wires together and
insulate
 Install the header tank
support bracket
 Using a 16mm 90 degree
pipe extend the 16mm
original pipe.
 Install header tank
 Replace any fluid lost

Audi R8 30
 Install high pressure pump internals to
the fuel pump housing's.
 Reinstall fuel pumps

Audi R8 31
 Remove STD front pulley
 Remove dowels
 Install damper and dowels to
TTS pulley
 Install alternator pulley to TTS
pulley
 Install pulleys to engine
 Install all idlers and support
plates (60mm pulley at the
top of the oval plate and top
idlers are gated)
 Install belt

Audi R8 32
 Remove tensioner and idler
from alternator run
 Remove alternator pulley
and install TTS pulley
 Install spacer behind the
idler bracket and reinstall
idler
 Install spacers behind belt
tensioner
 Re install belt

Audi R8 33
 Install vac chamber into the LH
wheel arch on to the side of the
A/C condenser
 Disconnect the solenoid from
the vac line in the middle of the
v but leave the solenoid
connected electrically
 Use the one way valve from
under the original plenum
 Run 4mm vac line as shown in
the diagram

 Remove std mesh from plastics
 Check fitment in the vehicle and trim
to suit
 Bond new mesh to plastics
 Check fitment and trim to suit
 Reinstall all plastic engine covers

Audi R8 35
 Reinstall the engine cover
 Reinstall wheel arch liners
 Reinstall all under trays
 Reinstall blades
 Reinstall front bumper
