Fuzzy Logic The Origins
Fuzzy Logic The Origins
It begins since old grace, they find a little problem where classical logic does not work
correctly, after almost 1000 years later a person called Betrand Russell, return to this old
idea and try to solve this problem, in 1920 another Philosopher worked in the principles of
Fuzzy logic and the possibility to take values between 0 and 1.
The concept of fuzzy Logic was created by Lofti A. Zadeh, he was a professor of Barkley
University. He published a paper where he described fuzzy sets and mathematical
properties, in this moment in the history born the name but it was not until 1970 when this
theory had an application to real world.
In 1974 the British Abraham Mamdani showed, that this can be applied in the control field
and he made the first practical fuzzy control, it was design to control a steam machine.
Some years later two Japanese Takagi and Sugeno, created a new theory of fuzzy control,
in order to offer and alternative method of Mamdani´s.
10 years later, this theory was very successful and became very popular, different kind of
group began to investigate applications and one of the famous fields was Neuronal
network, this system tried to use methods of learning to improve his parameters. In 90’s
investigators applied a good combination between fuzzy logic, neuronal network and
different kind of algorithms, to create better techniques of control. Nowadays there is a lot
of investigation and applications one of them start to explore new fields like Internet, DNA,
robotics, aeronautics, Medicine, electronics and a lot of new fields.
