PSIM Demo Version - Quick Guide

Installing PSIM
1. Download the PSIM demo version, and run the setup executable.
2. Follow the installation instructions. After the installation is complete, you are ready to run PSIM.

Simulating a Circuit
To simulate the sample circuit “examples\dc-dc\buck.psimsch” in the PSIM directory:
- Run “PSIM.exe” to launch PSIM. Choose File >> Open to load the file.
- Go to Simulate >> Run Simulation to start the simulation. After the simulation is complete, the waveform
display window will launch automatically.
- Select waveforms for display.

Running PsimBook Exercise


To run the PsimBook Exercise #9 "Industrial Applications of Three-Phase Inverters":
- From the PSIM folder, run “PsimBook.exe”.
- Choose File >> Open Book to load the file "09-Three_Phase_Inverters_demo.PsimBook" from the PsimBook
Exercise sub-folder.
- There is a circuit in Page 4 of the document. This is a PSIM circuit, and the circuit parameters can be edited by
double clicking on top of the elements. To simulate the circuit, right click on top of the schematic, and choose Run
Simulation.
To load the answer file for this exercise, from PsimBook, go to File >> Load Answer File, and load the file
"Exercise9_1.answer".

Documentation and Sample Examples


PSIM User Manual is provided in the "doc" sub-folder and several tutorials are provided in the “Tutorials” sub-folder in the
PSIM directory. Many sample examples are provided the “examples” sub-folder.

Demo Version Limitations


Limitations of the demo version are described in the "readme_demo.pdf" file.
