Mangroves at vikhroli (Godrej mangroves)

 The study found that each year, 50,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) is being added and
stored at the protected reserved forest.
 Mangroves are salt-tolerant plants that protect the coastline from inundation. Mangrove
species capture CO2 from the atmosphere and store them as carbon. This process is called
carbon sequestration, and it helps control global warming by reducing CO2 levels in the
atmosphere, according to climate scientists.

limiting flooding of the area during monsoon.

New global headquarter of godrej – godrej one is situated in ‘the trees’. Which has been already
constructed and started the working.

The name ‘godrej one’ is given because of first time all godrej head office comes under one roof.

There were 75 years old factories in the site of the township.

In memories of these old factories godrej built a community center at ‘the trees’. this community center
is adapted reuse of old generator building. Old factory modules - Chimneys, boilers and silos were used
as sculptures.

In designing of layout of ‘the trees’ they Retained as much as possible - road layout, with its lined tree
venues. They retain almost 90% trees and they proposed pedestrian street under it.
