trigonometric functions. In this course, you will apply geometric concepts in modeling situations and prove
geometric theorems.

Website
We will be using Google Classroom for this course and you will need to use the code I give you in class to join
the site. Announcements and homework assignments will be posted on the website.
Grading Policy
Grades will be based on tests, quizzes, homework, and possibly projects. You will be graded on a point system.
Each homework assignment is worth 5 points. Quizzes will be worth 10 to 50 points. Projects are worth 50
points and tests are worth 100 points. Approximately 10% of the test will include review material from
previous units. Each grade is calculated as (points earned ÷ points possible)⋅100.
Homework
Homework will be posted on the board in class and on Google Classroom. Homework is assigned several times
a week and often graded on completeness. The purpose of homework is to help you practice and reinforce the
skills you learned in class. I cannot give you feedback on it nor will it help prepare you for your test if it is late.
If you submit your homework late, you will receive half credit.
All steps must be shown on everything submitted in this class when necessary unless it is a one-step problem or
you will not receive full credit. If you are struggling with a homework problem, please email me or come
before class to ask for help. You may start a problem and find that you are unable to do it. If that is the case,
try to do as much of it as you can and then write a specific question that you have about the problem so that I
know you have thought about it and tried. Do not leave a problem blank as you will not receive any credit.
Absences Policy:
If you are absent, it is your responsibility to ask me about makeup work. Homework will usually be posted on
the website. If you missed a quiz or test, make arrangements to make them up outside of class.
Calculator and Laptop Policy: You will not be allowed to use a calculator or laptop in class unless given
permission.
Extra Help: If you need extra help outside of class, I will be available in the morning everyday before classes
start. I will not be available after school most days as I usually have a meeting, duty or clubs. You may also
get help in Math Lab, which is on Tuesday-Thursday from 8:10-8:40 am in room 130 and 3:00-4:00 pm in room
133. There is also a peer mentor program available. If you are interested in either being a peer mentor or need
a peer mentor, please come talk to me.
