2018/2019 Good Shepherd Lutheran School Band Dates

Events in Bold are for ALL students Events in Plain are optional or by audition
**See Band Handbook for more information on events**
**5th-8th grade Full Band Rehearsal Tuesday and Thursday Mornings 7:30 AM-8:05 AM**

Saturday, September 22nd—Collinsville Italian Fest Parade Drop Off at 3:20 PM near the corner of W. Clay St. and N. Hesperia St.
in downtown Collinsville, Parade step off is 4:00 PM. Please sit near the end (Clay and Hesperia) & pick up student when finished.
All students wear maroon polo/standardized dress style shirt, khaki bottoms, socks, and closed toe shoes

Monday, October 8th – ILMEA All-District Auditions at Mascoutah Middle School 846 N. 6th St. Mascoutah, IL 62258
(morning)(contact Mr. Stegman immediately if interested in auditioning-6th-8th grade only)

Friday, November 9th-GSLS Veterans Day Assembly Concert-GSLS Gym-2:00 PM


Tuesday, November 13th-PEP BAND Boys Game call time 7:00 PM (play before and during game, students dismissed at half-time, approx 8 pm)
Saturday, November 17th – ILMEA Dist. VI All-District Band/Music Festival (selected students/all day) Belleville West High School 4063 Frank
Scott Parkway West, Belleville, IL 62223 (this is for students who were accepted through auditions on Monday, October 8th)

Thursday-Sunday, November 15-18th- GSLS Basketball Tournament-Students invited to play Star Spangled Banner before games, solo or small
ensembles. If interested, let Mr. Stegman know and he will assign you a game time.
Monday, November 26th-PEP BAND Girls Game call time 7:00 PM (play before and during game, students dismissed at half-time, approx 8 pm)

Friday, December 7th – 5-8 PM Rehearsal for MELHS Christmas Concert, Pizza Party, Dodgeball vs. other Lutheran School bands!!
(Location: Metro East Lutheran Performing Arts Center) 6305 Center Grove Rd. Edwardsville, IL 62025
Sunday, December 9th – MELHS Christmas Concert 2:30 PM (Loc: MELHS PAC) (Students meet at 2:10)

Friday, December 14th-PEP BAND Boys Game ALUMNI NIGHT call time 7:00 PM (play before and during game, students dismissed at half-
time, approx 8 pm) All Band Alumni and Friends (parents, grandparents who play and instrument etc.) encouraged to join us and play along!!!

Sunday, December 16th—GOOD SHEPHERD LUTHERAN SCHOOL CHRISTMAS CONCERTS ***NEW DAY/TIME THIS YEAR***
All Concerts are held in the Church Sanctuary
2:00 PM- Preschool-Kindergarten Christmas Concert (students wear nice dress clothes any color)(1:30 doors, 1:45 student call time)
3:00 PM-1st-4th grade Christmas Concert (includes 4th grade band)(students wear nice dress clothes any color)(2:30 doors, 2:45 student call time)
3:45 PM-10 Volunteers needed to help set up chairs for band
6:00 PM-5th-8th grade Christmas Concert (students wear white and black dress clothes)(5:30 doors, 5:40 PM call)

Thursday, January 10th- PEP BAND Girls Game Call Time 6:00 PM (play before and during game, dismissed at half-time approx 8 pm)
Thursday, January 17th- PEP BAND Girls Game 8th Grade Night Call Time 6:40 PM (play before and during game, dismissed at half-time)
Tuesday, January 22nd- PEP BAND Boys Game 8th Grade Night Call Time 7:10 PM (play before and during game, dismissed at half-time)
Sunday, January 27th – School Band accompanies worship at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church
(GSLC Sanctuary-Arrive by 7:30 AM, Service times 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM) National Lutheran Schools Week
Saturday, February 2nd -- Madison County Band Festival @Collinsville Middle School 9649 Collinsville Road 62234
11:45 AM Rehearsals begin-7:00 PM concert (selected students)
Saturday, February 16th—Madison County Jazz Festival @ GSLS (selected students) 11:45 AM Rehearsals begin-7:00 PM Concert

Thursday, March 14th- Grandparents and Special Friends Day Assembly-School Gym (Band Participation TBD)
Friday, March 15th – Illinois Lutheran Honor Band Festival @ Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (All Day)

Saturday, May 4th – IGSMA State Solo and Ensemble Contest at Triad Middle School 9539 U.S. HWY 40 St. Jacob, IL 62281
Sunday, May 5th --11:30 AM-Volunteers needed to help set up the church for GSLS Spring Concert
Tuesday, May 7th—Good Shepherd Lutheran School Spring Concert 7 PM (4th Gr. Included) (6:40 Call Time, doors open 6:30)
Friday, May 24th-GSLS Graduation- Band students play before and during Graduation service. Student call time 6:20 PM
Preservice Music starts at 6:45, students dismissed around 8 pm. Snacks available afterward in Gymnasium.
