percussion, and unpitched instruments

1st Grade ● Identify, label, and perform quarter notes
● Identify, label, and perform eighth note pairs
● Identify, label, and perform quarter rests
● Experience and identify fast and slow
● Experience and identify getting faster and getting slower
● Experience duple meter (2/4, 4/4, 6/8)

2nd Grade ● Identify, label, and perform half notes


● Identify, label, and perform half rests
● Identify, label, and perform tied notes
● Define tempo names
● Experience triple meter (3/4)
● Recognize time signatures

3rd Grade ● Identify, label, and perform dotted half notes


● Identify, label, and perform sixteenth notes
● Identify, label, and perform whole notes
● Identify, label, and perform whole rests
● Perceive, perform, and compose in duple meter
● Perceive and perform in triple meter

4th Grade ● Identify syncopation


● Experience and label accelerando and ritardando
● Identify, label, and perform pick-up notes

5th Grade ● Identify, label, and perform two sixteenth notes and an eighth
note
● Identify, label, and perform an eighth note and two sixteenth
notes
● Identify, label, and perform mixed meter
