PERMIT AND INSPECTION FEE SCHEDULE

In accordance with Fire Code Supplement, DCMR 12H, Section 113


(Fee schedule) inspection and permit fees shall be paid as follows:

FIRE INSPECTION FEES

Commercial Fire Inspection


per site visit and per discipline; first re-inspection of each $150.00
kind of inspection is included in the initial inspection fee

Residential Inspection (1 and 2 Family dwellings) $100.00


per site visit and per discipline; first re-inspection of each
kind of inspection is included in the initial inspection fee

Re-Inspection Fee:
A re-inspection fee shall apply to the third and $150.00
subsequent required re-inspections due to incomplete or
incorrect work per site visit and per discipline.

Foster Care Home Inspection Free

PERMIT FEES:

Place of Public Assembly Operational Permit $150.00


Group “A” Occupancies with an occupant load greater than 100 person

Propane LP Gas Permit (200 pounds or less) $100.00


For each pound in excess of 200 pounds $ .50
(Roofing, Vending, Storage and Handling, etc.)

Open burning Permit (bonfires, etc.) $150.00


Open Flame Permit (per performance ) $150.00
Explosives Permit:

Explosives Site Permit (dynamite/nitro) $600.00


(Valid for 45 business days)

Explosives Vehicle Inspection, per vehicle $150.00


(Valid for 45 business days)

Fireworks Permit:
$450.00
Fireworks Aerial Display Permit
$250.00
Fireworks Retail and Stand Permit

explosives; flammable & combustible liquids; floor
finishing; fruit & crop ripening; fumigation & thermal
insecticidal fogging; hazardous materials; HPM facilities;
high-piled storage; hot work operations; industrial ovens;
lumberyards & woodworking plants; liquid- or gas-
fueled vehicles/equipment in assembly buildings; LP-
gas; magnesium, miscellaneous combustible storage;
open burning; open flame & torches; open flames &
candles in assembly areas; organic coatings; places of
assembly; private fire hydrants; pyrotechnic special
effects material; pyroxylin plastics, refrigeration
equipment; repair garages & motor fuel-dispensing
facilities; rooftop heliports; spraying or dipping; storage
of scrap tires & tire byproducts; tire-rebuilding plants;
waste handling; wood products)

Expedited Permit: Double the Original


Permit Fee
PLANS REVIEW:

Per Set (Includes all other plans: exhibition, emergency $150.00 per set
response, evacuation plans, hot work program, special
events, site, construction, alley and street closure for
more than 90 days.)

USE OF PERSONNEL (Service Request):


For Special Event, Fire Watch, or Other
 Fire Inspector $65.00
 Fire Fighter Per person, per hour for a
 Paramedic minimum of four hours
 EMT

For Parades, Festivals and other Special Events.

Engine Company, Truck Company, Rescue squad, Rapid $400.00


Hazardous Material Unit, or Fireboat per hour for a minimum of
four hours

$400.00
Mass Casualty Unit per hour for a minimum of
four hours

$400.00
Brush Unit per hour for a minimum of
four hours

$200.00
Basic Life Support Ambulance per hour for a minimum of
four hours

Advanced Life Support Ambulance $200.00

All fees shall be made payable to the “DC Treasurer” and can be paid online
at fems.dc.gov or by visiting our Permit Center located at 1100 4th Street SW,
Washington, DC 20024 2nd Floor
