Introduction
In the present work will be talking about the tourist
places in Samaná place known for hosting the largest
concentration of tourist places in the area where we
will know each of their locations and how to reach
them.
Talk about places in your city and how to get to
them. What means of transport are used? What
are their addresses?

- Samaná has different places among them:

• The Haitises National Park

The Haitises national park is a forested reserve called

haitises zone, the park is in the Bay of Samaná, of
which it forms part. In large part the park is in the
municipality of savannah of the sea.
The karst area of Los Haitises is composed of hills
(mogotes) next to each other with vallecitos (bottoms)
between them. The mogotes of the interior and the
keys of the Bay of Samaná have the same origin,
differing only in that the bottoms between the keys are
occupied by the water of the sea and that are less
elevated than the mogotes.
To get to the national park haitises is extremely easy
only have to reach Samaná either by own car or bus
also by taxi, then go to a tour agency, when you have
already bought the tour they will take a round and
round The Haitises.
• Salto Del Limón
Salto Del Limón, It is a waterfall of approximately 40
meters of height that ends in a spa where it is good to
bathe. This jump is beautiful because of its impressive
height, its green moss that covers the walls of the rock
and the water that flows forming a translucent veil.
To visit El Limón can be on foot or horseback
excursions through the agencies of the area (Las
Terrenas, Las Galeras and Samaná) that is recovered in
the hotel and takes care of the whole organization. It is
also possible to go by car, taxi or bus to El Limón, and
on the road from Las Terrenas to Samaná there are
stops to visit the waterfall.
The stop No. 5 El Pino the horse ride lasts about 30
minutes and about 40 minutes’ walk, walking the walk
is very easy despite some good climbs. In September
2012 the price of horseback riding was 350 pesos and
200 to feet plus 100 pesos for the guide (negotiable).
Returning, you can eat in a good and succulent
Dominican Flag for 300 pesos per person.
 Playa Rincon

Playa Rincon, located in Las Galeras, is considered

among the ten most beautiful beaches in the world due
to its natural conditions.
Of fine white sand and turquoise blue water is
surrounded by thick and singular vegetation.
From Samaná you leave for Playa Rincón by driving
along the road that connects with Galeras or starting
from there on horseback through the mountains. An
additional and full of adventure is through the sea. The
boats are approached, either from the same town of
Las Galeras or some hotels in the area that offer a tour
to the beach.
The coasts of Playa Rincón are ideal for water sports
such as sailing and windsurfing.

It is characterized by being practically deserted, with

typical small hotels around, as well as those that offer
the 'all inclusive' system.
 Cayo Levantado

Cayo Levantado is a small island, a beautiful and small

portion of land located on the northeast coast of the
Dominican Republic in the Bay of Samaná, in the
Samaná Peninsula in the Northeast of the Dominican
Republic. It has a humid forest vegetation, paradisiac
beaches, white sands and crystalline waters, nestled in
a beautiful landscape.
It is a place where humpback whales are spotted
during the seasons from January to March. In Cayo
raised, the visitor and the lush vegetation with its
beautiful beaches are disputed the reign. Lovers of
nature and stunning beauty came looking for a
paradise and found it in Cayo Levantado. The whole
island is a small gem, located just outside the Samaná
peninsula and is a perfect place to escape for a day.
White sand and like octopus, turquoise waters, like
crystal - ideal for snorkeling or swimming gently.
Several birds are there, like Spanish parrots, lettuces
and ganetas. It is remarkable that there is also the jutía
and solenodonte.
 Playa Frontón

Playa Frontón is located in the town of Las Galeras, and

is considered to be one of the best beaches in the
Dominican Republic, with crystalline turquoise waters
and surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes.
Getting to it is complicated by the frondiness of the
area. It can be reached on foot (minimum two hours
walking) or by boat. Many natives will offer you the
possibility of taking you by boat to observe both Playa
Fronton and Playa Rincon.

It is a fantastic beach to snorkel, both for the variety of

fish in the area, and for the clarity of its waters, as well
as having a water temperature close to 30º, ideal for
snorkeling.
 La Playita las Galeras

Only 10 minutes from Las Galeras is the small,

beautiful beach Playita. Since the reef starts in
shallow water, it is ideal for snorkeling. It is a
popular destination for locals and tourists who
want to relax or be active. Invites you to play
volleyball net on the beach one. There is also a
restaurant, which is famous for its fresh fish
dishes. The beach is frequented by many locals on
the weekends.
 Playa el valle

Located between two mountains covered with

tropical vegetation and with the mouth of the river
just to one side. The combination between the
river and the beach make it ideal for when the sea
is moved and there is current too strong, as the
bathers can take advantage and take a bath in the
river instead of giving up cooling.

Located on the coast north of Samaná, it is well

connected by road to about 15 km by road and
roads.

There are a couple of places where you can eat

typical Dominican cuisine with the beauty of the
tropical waters and the background of the green
mountains as a complement to that special day.

Its fine white sand invites the visitor to a walk

with the refreshing touch of water on the feet,
while the shade of the tropical trees calls the rest
after the bath.
• The Whale Museum

The Whales Museum has become a reference for

scientists and researchers of theology, since
within its ample surroundings is a varied
exhibition on cetaceans, especially on the
humpback whale.

This beautiful initiative was born with the

objective of promoting knowledge about this
beautiful animal, as well as promoting
sustainability and healthy habits for the
preservation of the great marine ecosystem that
today houses the Dominican Republic.

The museum has guided tours service, with which

you can enjoy pleasant and playful talks. In
addition, the museum has a small shop where you
can buy souvenirs from the area.
• Malecon of Samaná

In Samaná one of the points of reference to take a walk

is the Malecon of Samaná, one of the most emblematic
places of Santa Bárbara de Samaná. It is an area that is
located along the Avenida de la Marina, with shopping
center a few minutes away and near the National Park
of the Haitises.

You can enjoy the large number of boats that are

moored near the boardwalk, as well as being an area
where you can find different shops to buy souvenirs
such as handicrafts so that visitors can simply take a
good souvenir. It also houses different restaurants
where you can enjoy with local gastronomy, such as
fish and different exotic fruits.
• The little town prince
In the prince village you will find a shopping center
with casino, nightclub, bars, restaurants etc...
Also located is the BHD León bank, the Caribbean bus
station tour and can rent cars, four wheel and buggy.

 Conclusion:

Tourism is the preferred and most recent

economic activity in the country and in the
Samaná region. Despite the fact that tourism
legislation provides for the carrying out of an
environmental impact study for the construction
and implementation of a tourism project, this does
not comply with the rigor required by such a
situation.
