13. I’m fluently speaking, reading and writing the Arabic language and have some skills in writing the Arabic Reports
in addition to more than good working level in writing, reading and speaking of English and Italian languages.

My strengths:

Generally:

 Distinguished because of the homogenous mix of scientific, practical and managerial skills in addition to very
strong computer skills help me performing the analysis of huge volumes of data easily, accurately and shortly.
 Beside my base knowledge and experience in the Client side, I experienced also the contractor one. An amount
of experience that really added lots and lots to my profile at least I knew how are the contractors managing the
project costs, what ticks and tricks are used to report to the Client and how do they manage the project
resources.
 My nonstop willingness to be part of a winning team. Really & truly, the improvement from my point of view
and as I’m always considering it, is not only the personal improvement, the whole team improvement impacts
back on every member of the team and I’m able to help the others to improve themselves.

Regarding PDO:

 I’m coming from a similar organization, similar culture and spoken languages.
 The stakeholders surrounding PDO business are the same as I’m previously experiencing in terms of the
relations with government represented by the oil and gas ministry, the shareholders with the different
nationalities, traditions and cultures and the company role toward the industry, community and the whole
country.
 I’m a loyal resource, not moving quickly from a place and not migrating all the time.

Regarding this job specifically:

 My profile is extremely the same as required specifically for this position.

 The detailed scope of the position, I’m doing along years even using the same software applied in your
organization. A fact that can anticipate my actual start with duties without taking long period to understand the
system. Moreover, speaking Arabic is a really an advantage that beside the English can help communicating
easier and faster.
My weaknesses:

 Well, no one is complete and everyone has more than one weakness or maybe many.
o I see that my greatest weakness is that I take a little bit more time to review in a trial to decrease the
number of errors as much as possible. It takes somehow longer time but on the other hand it
guarantees much more accurate deliverables and enhances the quality of the work products. However,
I’m overcoming this weakness by prioritizing my tasks and duties. To arrive to a satisfactory point of
allowed errors, my team may think that I’m too much demanding when some job is not done perfectly I
require it to be modified and corrected to arrive to a point of convenience and convince makes it
accepted
o I never experienced working in Oman, but looking positively to that, I can see that it represents another
point will help me continue challenging and gives me the chance to prove myself.

Critical Situations:

I remember that, I was doing the cost estimate of a new offshore project where we had to construct and install three
new Gas Platforms located in the Mediterranean Sea.

I started to make the activities cost estimate after getting the project schedule ready. Normally we refer to the project
schedule while estimating the activities costs according to the resources previously considered.

There was the activity of “Platform offshore installation” where the main resource was the offshore installation barge
with a certain value of daily rate. I considered the daily rate by the estimated duration of the activity and added the
relevant reserves to compensate the foreseen risks and I got at the end the total estimated cost of the activity which
made part of the project approved budget.

While executing the project, the installation barge proposed to perform the activity had a problem with one of its
machines caused impossibility to move to the work location. The relevant maintenance works would take almost one
week which would cause the delay of the activity and accordingly the project because the activity was part of the critical
path. Unfortunately, this was the only barge with the capability to lift these platforms.

The execution team was forced to scout the market looking for another capable barge with direct awarding because
there was no time to tender out the activity and you can imagine the coast variance caused.

Although the problem was not within our responsibilities domain, we updated the Organization Process Assets with this
lesson learned after holding a small workshop to simulate what could we consider mitigating that risk.

 Include in the contract with the contractor one article guaranteeing the availability of an alternative resource
during the execution.
 Such an activity which uses some rare resources should consider more time reserves for such kind of risks.
Petroleum Development Oman (PDO)

Is the major exploration and production company in the Sultanate with combined hydrocarbons production in excess of
1 million barrels per day. It accounts for more than 70% of the country's crude-oil production and nearly all of its natural
gas supply.

The Company is owned by the Government of Oman (60% interest), the Shell Group (34% interest), Total (4% interest)
and Partex (2% interest). Gas fields are operated by PDO exclusively on behalf of the Omani Government.

In 2010, PDO produced an average of 553,000 barrels per day of crude oil, and 410,000 per day barrels of oil equivalent
of natural gas. During 2010 the combined production of oil, gas, liquefied petroleum gas and condensates stood at more
than one million barrels of oil equivalent per day.

PDO has been exporting oil produced in its concession area known as ‘Block 6’ since 1967. The Company has discovered
over 180 fields, of which 126 are currently producing oil and/or gas. In recent years, PDO has embarked on a major drive
to produce oil using enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques.

In 2010, the Company started commissioning its first EOR oilfield project at Marmul and currently has three other EOR
projects at various stages of development at Harweel, Qarn Alam and Amal.

Deepest well in the Middle East

In 2010, PDO drilled what is believed to be the deepest well in the Middle East. Using state-of-the-art technologies, Well
Engineering drilled more than 7,000 metres in the search for deep gas in the Fahud Salt Basin. The well, targeted
unconventional tight gas reservoirs are known as Basin-Centre Gas.
