Outreach Plan:
To create outreach opportunities for parents, partners and other stakeholders.
a. Include STEM Goals on school STEM website and schoolwide plan
b. Distribute STEM quarterly school newsletters
c. Host Parent and Partner Information Sessions
d. Host guided school tours
e. Host PBL Showcase Nights for parents, partners and other stakeholders
highlighting student presentations and showcases

To integrate STEM into the curriculum:


1. The students will think like engineers, designers, and problem solvers.

2. The students will identify and utilize creativity, inventions, and resources.

3. The students will improve their ability to:


a. think critically and abstractly
b. demonstrate imaginative and creative thinking
c. work cooperatively with others
d. comprehend what is read independently
e. model ethical and social responsibility
f. communicate ideas orally

4. The teachers will design STEM PBL Units aligned to district and state
standards.

5. The teachers will facilitate investigations utilizing the Engineering Design


Process:
a. Identify a Challenge/ Problem
b. Explore/Imagine Ideas
c. Plan and Develop
d. Test and Evaluate
e. Present the Solution

STEAM Career Professionals Week Nov. 2018
- Invite career professionals to talk and
share with students about their jobs and
roles in the STEM field. They will discuss
how student’s content relates to the real
world and their careers.

Assessments:
To assess achievement, our students will create portfolios (STEM Interactive
Journals) using authentic documentation such as notes, diagrams, graphs,
observations, research, and pictures.

Resources:
In order to implement the STEM Action Plan, CAE will need to leverage resources
from the following areas:

1. STEM Resources and curriculum


2. Business Partners
3. Family and friends of CAE
4. Science lab materials
5. Mobile STEAM Carts

Learning Experiences:

1. Include the Engineering Design Process throughout curriculum


2. Include PBL projects at least once per quarter focused on grade level
standards and scope and sequence
3. Integrate STEAM Journals daily
4. Include field experiences throughout the year that correlates to PBL and
STEM units
