I would agree with the current S &T policies/ agenda of the government because the
DOST wants to developed a certain policy for the social and economic benefit of the people. If
harnessed rationally and effectively, these could help eliminate issues in our country. Especially
in the Harmonized National Research and Development Agenda (HNRDA) which focuses about
its stabilization, convenient and rest assured nation. It supports to reduce inequality, enhance
social fabric and increase potential growth.

This agenda was formulated by the National Research Council of the Philippines which is
to increase potential and socio-economic growth for the betterment of the Filipinos. This program
is in Sector III of HNRDA which is the AGRICULTURE, AQUATIC AND NATURAL RESOURCES
(AANR). The AANR sector supports the use of advanced and emerging technologies such as
biotechnology or genomics to find S&T solutions to AANR problems or develop new products
with significant potential impact to the sector. Second it supports organic agriculture, lawful food
production or food safety and traceability initiatives as long as it is biddable with biosafety rules
and regulations. Lastly it supports Farm Mechanization, as mandated by RA 10601, otherwise
known as the Agricultural and Fisheries Mechanization Law, to modernize the sector and increase
agricultural productivity, efficiency and competitiveness. Out of 128 countries, Philippines is
number 12 (63.12%) of its High Tech and Medium-High Tech Output that has a great progress
compare on previous years. The Sectors’ Outcome is being globally competitive and innovative
production and knowledge services achieved for AANR.
