International Cooking Contest

The international cooking contest challenges groups to prepare famous dishes from countries like the Philippines, Mexico, Korea, USA, South Africa, Japan, and France. Groups of 5 students will compete and must provide their own ingredients. Teams must submit recipes and title cards describing their dishes. All preparation must be done on site and cooked items cannot be brought in. Groups will present two plates - one for display and one for tasting. Dishes will be judged on taste (40%), visual appeal and creativity (40%), and overall presentation (20%). Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams and consolation prizes to the others.

INTERNATIONAL COOKING CONTEST

THE COMPETITION
The challenge is to prepare famous dishes from different countries around the world.
These countries are:
Philippines Mexico Korea USA
South Africa Japan France
Every group has the privileged to choose as to what delicacies they will present which are know to their
assigned country.
THE COMPETING TEAM
The contest is open to all Senior High School students. There will be 4 participating group (3 section each
group) composed 5 members only.
They are required to be at the venue one (1) hour before the contest proper. Five (5) points will be
deducted from the total score of the groups who will arrive late.
REQUIREMENTS and MECHANICS
1. The participants will have to provide their own ingredients.
2. Each team must submit their official recipe before the cooking contest starts.
3. The participants must provide a Title Card which contains the title and the brief description of
the dish on display. A five (5)-point deduction from the total score shall be incurred for non- submission
of the title card.
4. All preparation and cooking of dishes, including garnishes, must be entirely made and crafted on the
spot. A team who brings in any cooked item will be disqualified. Before the competition starts, each
working area will be checked by the committee to ensure that no item (e.g., food and beverage) has
been brought in.
5. Every team should prepare two plates for their dish – one for display and another one to be served
to the judges for tasting.
6. Three teams will be declared as Winners. Participating team who didn’t take the spot will be given
consolation prizes.
