The Sentence
Let’s learn.....
A sentence is a group of words which makes complete sense.

Never forget that...


* A sentence begins with a capital letter.

* The words in a sentence should be placed in correct order.

* A sentence ends with a full stop(.), question mark(?) or an


exclamation mark (!).

Put a cross (r) for the incorrect sentence and a tick (a) for
the correct sentence.
1. in the forest saw I a huge lion

2. My little sister is hopping like a frog.

3. What is your favourite colour?

4. at the bakery

5. The dog barked loudly at the stranger.

6. We shall go to watch the movie tonight.

Parts of a sentence

a naming part
A sentence has two parts
an action part

The naming part is called subject.


The action part is called predicate.

Now circle the subject and underline the predicate using a crayon.
The first one is done for you.
1. My brother got a shoe bite.

2. The lion roars loudly.

3. Rita, Ramesh and Tina went for a picnic.

4. Fish lives in water.

5. The camel is called “the ship of the desert”.
