My name is Kenzie Grauberger. After high school, I plan to attend the University of Northern
Colorado. While there, I want to further my education to get a career in Accounting. I intend to
get my degree in Accounting in four years. In addition, I plan to take all my exams to become a
Certified Public Accountant and continue my interests with a career in Accounting. Taking the
exams to become a Certified Public Accountant will enable me to pursue my career in
accounting so that I can help businesses and people in need.
As a high school student, I have always been advanced in most of my classes. This gave me the
opportunity to take many concurrent enrollment classes. As a junior, I took three college classes:
College Algebra, Intro to Business, and Business Communications and Report Writing. During
the first semester of my senior year, I took Intro to Statistics, History: Since the Civil War, and
Composition I. For my second semester of my senior year, I am taking Survey of Calculus, Intro
to PC Applications, and Composition II. These classes allow me to get the prerequisites
completed so I can take the main classes at UNC. Having the opportunity to take college classes
as a high school student showed me that I can do anything as long as I work for it and never give
up. I felt that most of these classes were particularly easy but I know I cannot go into college
thinking all classes are going to be that way.
Ever since I was young I have been saving money for college and put that money in a savings
account. I would get money for my birthday, and instead of spending it on toys like every child
wants, I put the money into my savings account. When I am given money, I spend it wisely and
put the majority of the money into my savings. There isn’t a lot of money in there, so
scholarships would help me a lot. When the money from my savings account is gone, I will
continue to pay for college on my own, without my parents assistance. During college, I plan to
get a job to supplement my money, but with college being so expensive scholarships would help
me immensely.
Education, to me, is a privilege every young person gets, but after high school it becomes a
choice for students. I feel that education after high school shows the world how many people
want to benefit the business world and keep it safe and working. Not every student goes to
school, whether it be because of financial reasons or the lack of interest. I believe as I continue
my education, I will be helping the business world grow and stay on track with everything they
must do.
