The Gene - An Intimate History - Siddhartha Mukherjee

The document provides instructions for implementing a dual-homed eBGP configuration between a Cyberdine Industries HQ router and two ISP routers, ISP1 and ISP2. The goals are to ensure connectivity between PCs on the Branch LAN to specified web servers and correctly resolve hostnames. Users must configure IPv4 addressing, eBGP neighborships, and route advertisements to pass the Packet Tracer assessment and score 100%. A completed configuration file is provided for comparison.

In this simulation, you will be implementing multiple eBGP neighbor peerings. In order to

om
successfully complete the Packet Tracer Assessment, you will configure a dual-homed eBGP
configuration on the Cyberdine Industries HQ router as well as configure both ISP1 and ISP2
eBGP neighborships with the HQ and ISP3 routers.

Cyberdine Industries require access to both http://DavidBombal.com
and https://DavidBombal.com partner services as well as https://livelabs3.com.

You will ensure that the following is completed:

1. The HQ router has the appropriately configured IPv4 addressing on the subinterfaces
facing both ISP1 and ISP2 connections.
2. The HQ router is configured with a Dual-Homed eBGP configuration with ISP1 and
ISP2 routers. The HQ router should advertise its directly connected networks into BGP

using the appropriate mask option.

3. The HQ router should ensure that all users on the Branch LAN are able to successfully
open and view the Web Servers mentioned above.
4. Configure ISP1 and ISP to successfully create eBGP neighbors with the HQ and ISP3
routers. ISP1 and ISP 2 should advertise their directly connected networks int BGP.

5. Ensure that PCs on the Branch LAN are able to connect and correctly resolve the Web
Servers via hostnames. The Packet Tracer assessment lab may take a few minutes
to display the actual Web Server pages correctly instead of the standard Packet Tracer
graphic when successfully connecting to the Web Servers connected to ISP3.

You will be able to Check Results for your score and use this as possible hints and tips as

to what to check to get the 100% score. The Packet Tracer assessment file will grade you
and point you to check certain conditions have been met to score this lab on. There are
connectivity tests built into this lab to test connectivity from the Branch LAN PCs also.
As this is an assessment lab, a copy of the completed .pkt file has been provided for
configuration comparison.
Good luck everyone – Go get that 100%!
