The Technical Assistance Section of the Department of Agriculture gathered data on the Philippine Rice Information System from satellite images during the month of August 2017. They conducted metadata collection and validation of rice and non-rice areas for several municipalities in preparation for the wet season of 2018. Personnel also performed crop cutting to verify satellite observations in August.
