Dear Sir/Madam,

Motivational Letter for Scholarship

I was very glad when I saw this scholarship opportunity and with this letter, I would
like to express my gratitude to the Alumni Foundation of UoB for this programme. I
am a graduate of the University of Sarajevo with a degree in mathematics (Hons.).

Since I have quite a strong academic background in mathematics, (1) I think a Master
in Advanced Mathematics is good for me. My ultimate goal is to work with research
based organisations in the applied mathematics sector as well as in local universities
in order to improve research and human resource capacity building through training.

(2) It is rather difficult for me to further my studies as I have no money to fund myself.
Therefore, I will be very grateful to be provided with a scholarship to improve my
education and career prospects. (3) In the future, I will be able to apply the
knowledge gained in my education in my home country’s public sector or in a
university.

(4) Nevertheless, this scholarship will give me a chance to interact with other
academicians all over the world. Networking of this nature is very important for the
integration of different ideas and perspectives pertaining to diverse global issues.

(5) Worry not as I will utilise the scholarship properly. I believe that being a student in
your department would not only empower my career development, but would give me
the framework to develop my potentials fully. Moreover, I feel that as a Masters
student at your university, I can benefit from the numerous challenging career
opportunities.

Once again, I will be very grateful if you are able to give due consideration to this
application. I look forward to a favourable reply.
