After experiencing a few days of high

performance work in a compelling
collaborative environment, and during which
they reported that they “accomplished more in
a few days than they had in the previous two
years,” the leaders of Auchan, the French
retailer, asked InnovationLabs to help them
develop a high performance workplace at their
headquarters location in northern France.

To support a series of complex consulting

assignments for KP, InnovationLabs created a
high performance innovation lab at KP’s
California headquarters.

Implemented with frugal materials and a

simple but highly effective design, the space
is in constant demand by KP executives and
staff who benefit from working in an
environment that offers much more capability
and flexibility than a traditional conference
room.

GIOVANINI COMMONS

As a key participant on the design team that

included the Mendoza School of Business
Dean, the University of Notre Dame architect,
and VOA Architects, InnovationLabs provided
critical domain expertise in innovation and
collaboration to support the design of the
innovative Giovanini Commons.

“A traditional classroom can be constraining.
Too often, it promotes passive learning. The
instructor is the only point of focus and
interaction between students is -- at best --
limited. The challenge for the Mendoza College
of Business was how to design a different kind
of classroom – one that would encourage
spirited and interactive learning.

“The project team devised a plan for open and

flexible learning environments which can be
reconfigured for different problem solving
activities. The result was a unique design -- one
that had never been done before at a university.

and group problem solving, the design allows

COLLABORATIVE LABS

InnovationLabs partnered with St. Petersburg

College to design, outfit, develop the business
plan for, and train the staff of its new and
innovation Collaborative Labs, a 10,000 square
foot innovation space that serves the college
and the local community.

UST GLOBAL

For its new global headquarters building in

Trivandrum, India, UST Global asked
InnovationLabs to show theme what a
dynamic, high performance innovation lab
might look like for its engineers and software
designers.

Working closely with their architects we

designed an extensive lab space to support
multiple projects in parallel, along with
innovation software tools to help them inspire,
collect, share, and optimize innovation
throughout the organization.

CHINA INSTITUTE

China Institute for Innovation (CII) is

InnovationLabs’ Shanghai-based consulting
and training partner that provides services
throughout China.

Applying its methods and tools to create

innovative services and delivery platforms, CII
created a highly effective Innovation Lab at its
main training center.

For clients who wish to access its high

performance services at their own locations,
CII then created “Genius Bar” a fabulously
innovative “Innovation Lab-in-a-Shipping-
Container” that can be moved on the back of a
truck.

Taking up only 5 parking spots, the Genius

Box delivers a high performance lab space
whenever and wherever it is needed.

“Langdon Morris helped us solved the tough design problems for our
Innovation Center and then when we put the innovation center in a
container and created the GeniusBar learning center. It’s a
innovation center that is built in a container so that we can put it into
different industrial parks; it’s a moving innovation platform. Langdon
managed to use the space quite effectively so that there is maximum
functionality in limited space, and it’s amazing that he actually
managed to make a container able to accommodate 30 people.”
