To study the various sources of recruitment followed in Balasore Alloys Ltd., Kaliapani, Jajpur
To gain an in-depth knowledge on the internal and external Recruitment process carried out in the
organization.
To study the factors that contributes to recruitment and selection of potential employees.
To identify the effective recruitment practices in selecting qualified talents in the study
organization.
To evaluate and measure the effectiveness of recruitment and selection process in the study
organization.
To propose suggestions for better recruitment practices in the study organization.
The study will focus on the recruitment and selection practices in Balasore Alloys Ltd., Kaliapani,
Jajpur. This study covers two areas of the organization’s strategy for recruitment and selection
practices. These areas include the recruitment process and the selection methods. There are specific
steps to be used to implement the organization’s recruitment process and selection methods. These
steps will be further discussed and analyzed in this study.
6. RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Research methodology is the systematic way to solve the research problem. It gives an idea about various
steps adopted by the researcher in a systematic manner with an objective to determine various manners.
RESEARCH DESIGN: Descriptive and Exploratory Research Design will be used for this
study.
DATA COLLECTION METHODS: Both Primary and Secondary data sources will be used for
this study.
PRIMARY DATA: Most of the information will be gathered through primary sources. The
methods that will be used to collect primary data are: Questionnaire and Interview method.
SECONDARY DATA: The secondary data that will be used for this study will be collected
through websites and published materials related to Recruitment and Selection process at
Balasore Alloys Ltd., Kaliapani, Jajpur. The secondary data will be collected through
Internets, Journals, Magazines, Text Books etc.
RESEARCH APPROACH: The researcher will contact the respondents personally with well-
prepared sequentially arranged questions. The questionnaire will be prepared on the basis of
objectives of the study. Direct contract will be used for survey, i.e., contacting employees directly
in order to collect data.
SAMPLE SIZE, SAMPLING AREA, SAMPLING DESIGN: The study sample will be of 30
respondents constituting in the research area. The study is to be conducted on employees of
Balasore Alloys Ltd. The researcher has used probability sampling in which stratified random
sampling is used.
COLLECTION OF DATA: Most of the data collected by the researcher is primary data through
personal interview, where the researcher and the respondent operate face to face.
RESEARCH INSTRUMENT: The researcher has used a structured questionnaire as a research
instrument tool which consists of open ended questions, multiple choices and dichotomous
questions in order to get data. Thus, questionnaire is the data collection instrument used in the
study. All the questions in the questionnaire are organised in such a way that elicit all the relevant
information that is needed for the study.
STATISTICAL TOOLS: The statistical tools will be used for analyzing the data are percentage
method, pie diagrams and correlation.
SAMPLE SIZE: 30
SAMPLING TECHNIQUE: The selection of respondents will be done on the basis of
convenience sampling (Non- Probability).
STATISTICAL TOOLS: MS-EXCEL will be used to prepare pie- charts and graphs and MS-
WORD will be used to prepare or write the whole project report.

Data Analysis & Interpretation – Classification & tabulation transforms the raw data collected
through questionnaire in to useful information by organizing and compiling the bits of data
contained in each questionnaire i.e., observation and responses are converted in to understandable
and orderly statistics are used to organize and analyze the data:
Simple tabulation of data using tally marks.
Calculating the percentage of the responses.
Formula used = (no. of responses / total responses) * 100
Graphical analysis by means of pie charts bar graphs etc.
