VISUAL ARTS DAILY LESSON PLAN

Date: August 12-13, 2014

I. OBJECTIVES:
1. Demonstrates understanding of the features of the history background of Angono in terms of myths.
2. Discuss the history of Angono during pre-colonial, Spanish period up to present.
3. Create with his group, a presentation that will visualize his research which will be presented to the class.
(brainstorming, summarizing, reporting, giving and following instructions)
4. Emphasizes our identity through an appreciation of our rich town’s culture and heritage and traditions.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

C. Topic: History of Angono (Special Lecture on Visual Arts Grade 7)

III. ACTIVITIES:

A. PRE-ASSESSMENT
TASK 1: “LET’S TRAVEL!”
Direction: Find out first how much the students know about the topic. Use the map below and ask the students to answer
the following questions regarding the geographical boundaries surrounding the town of Angono. Write the answer on the
box provided.

Municipality of Angono

29.38 km. east of Manila.
It is situated on the
southwestern portion of
the province of Rizal.
Questions:
1. On Angono’s geographical boundaries, what municipality is on the:

B. ENABLING ACTIVITIES:
TASK 1: RESEARCH and REPORT

Divide the class into 4 groups, research on the different stages of Angono’s historical background.
Group 1: Legend of Angono
Group 2: Political Subdivisions and Economy
Group 3: Historical formation
Group 4: Culture and Traditions

a. Research on the different topics based on their groupings. Students must have written reports and visual or drawings
representations. Students are advised to use multimedia technology for their presentations.
b. Use the rubrics to assess the presentation of each group.

C. CULMINATING ACTIVITY (ART PRODUCTION)


Activity 1: STAMP DESIGN
Through this activity, students will be able to learn more about the culture and history of Angono in a great way. They
will be doing “Stamp Design” that depicted arts, people and other cultural symbolic icons.
Designs may be based on significant events and/or historical figures and cultural icons.

Materials: drawing supplies like pencil, bond paper, coloring materials, scissors
Procedures:
1. Decide on the composition or design for your project.
2. Allow the students to check their lessons again for some ideas.
3. Show examples of stamps:

Postage stamp “Ang Nuno” Postage stamp “Higantes Festival’ Postage Stamp National Artists of Angono
4. Explain stamp design will be based on a chosen theme.
a. Stamp design must include graphics and texts.
b. The entire drawing surface of the stamp must be used (composition).
c. The detail of the design is important (quality of artwork/skill).

5. For the size of the stamp, fold the bond paper in a half lengthwise, fold the paper in half crosswise for the second time, and
then unfold it.

6. Cut one of the panels to get the size of the stamp.


7. Apply the students’ designs
8. Review all stamp designs and appreciate each for its uniqueness.
9. Use a rubric to assess the work of your students.
