On November 29, 2018 the barangay was celebrating its founding anniversary with various activities. On November _, 2018 members of the municipal police conducted a raid at the barangay where a cockfight was taking place, but made no arrests. Palmero confronted Ano-os about the illegal cockfighting but was told to speak to the barangay captain and police chief first, as Ano-os had been instructed to hold the event. Palmero provided this sworn affidavit to attest to the truth of witnessing the illegal cockfighting

WITNESS AFFIDAVIT

I, ROGELIO PALMERO, Filipino of legal age, married and are resident of Barangay Upper
Panikian, Pitogo, Zamboanga del Sur, after having duly sworn to in accordance with law, do
hereby depose and say;

1. THAT sometime last November 29, 2018, Barangay Upper Panikian was celebrating its
____Araw Ng Barangay Upper Panikian (Chartered day);

2. THAT various activities then were prepared in line with ___ Araw ng Barangay
______________;

3. THAT during the ante-bisperas of the ___ Araw Ng Barangay or on November __, 2018,
members of the PNP elements of the Municipal Police Station of Pitogo arrived in Barangay
______ and conducted a raid as there was a cockfight going on. Surprisingly however, no one
was arrested;

9. THAT prior to the raid, that around _____ in the morning of November ___, 2018, Mr.
Palmero was surprised considering that there were people gathering at Purok _______ of the
same barangay;

10. THAT some of them were bringing fighting cocks, I then went to the area, I then saw
ETING ANO-OS, Filipino of legal age and a resident of Barangay _______, Pitogo, Zamboanga del
Sur; that Mr. Ano-os is a well-known gambler in said barangay;

11. THAT it was then and there that there was an illegal cock fighting going on; that said
illegal cock fighting was organized by Mr. Ano-os;

12. THAT I then talked to Mr. Ano-os and advised the latter to stop the said illegal cock
fighting, but Mr. Ano-os refused to stop and even told Mr. Palmero to talk first to the Barangay
Captain Hon. ____________ and to the then Chief of Police of Pitogo considering that he was
just instructed by Barangay Captain___________; Mr. Ano-os then told me to leave because the
fight was about to start;

13. THAT I am executing this Affidavit of Witness to attest to the truth of the foregoing
statements and for any legal purpose this may serve;

TO THE TRUTH OF THE FOREGOING, I have hereunto set my hand this ____ day of
January 2019, at Pagadian City, Philippines.

Zamboanga del Sur, Philippines, affiant having personally appeared before me and to me known
to be the very same person who executed the foregoing affidavit. I also hereby certify that I
personally examined the above-named affiant, that the foregoing affidavit was read and
translated to him in the language which he understand, and that I am personally satisfied that
he voluntarily executed and understood the contents of the same.
