The odyssey bloodbath

Bloodbath Summary
After Odysseus, disguised as a beggar, strings the bow and shoots an arrow through 12 axe
heads, he strings another arrow and shoots Antinous in the throat. Odysseus then reveals himself
and the suitors try to convince Odysseus that Antinous was the only bad suitor, but Odysseus
promises he will kill every single one of them, the suitors’ only hope is to kill Odysseus. Odysseus
shoots suitors with arrows and Telemachus has thrown his last spear. Odysseus tells Telemachus
he will hold the suitors off while he retrieves more spears, shields, and armor for themselves,
Eumaeus, and Philoetius. Telemachus accidentally left the storage room unlocked and a suitor,
Melanthius, retrieves supplies for the suitors. On his second run, however, he is caught by
Eumaeus and Philoetius who tie him up in the storage room. The story then resumes to the battle
where Athena has appeared, disguised as Mentor. Athena tries to encourage Odysseus to be
bloodier, saying things like, “Where’s it gone, Odysseus - your power, your fighting heart?”. Athena
then joins in the fight, easily killing many suitors, virtually ending the battle. Odysseus and
Telemachus only spare two suitors, Phemius and Medon, who were kind to Telemachus when he
was young.
Concept
● “Zombie” game mode, first-person shooter game
○ Waves of NPC (Non-Player Characters) as suitors
○ Waves progressively get more difficult
○ Two players fight together against the suitors (zombies)
■ Each player chooses a class, Odysseus or Telemachus
● The game takes place in Odysseus’s house
○ Suitors spawn in waves in halls the players are not in
○ The suitors are programmed to run towards the players and kill them
○ You cannot leave the house
● There are two modes in this game
○ “Story” has only 20 waves
■ Begins with a cutscene of Odysseus disguised as a beggar holding a strung bow and
saying, “Apollo give me glory!”. He then shoots an arrow clean through all 12 axe heads and
one through Antinous’s throat. Odysseus finally reveals himself and says, “You dogs! You
never imagined I’d return from Troy- now all your necks are in the noose - your doom is
sealed!”. After this dialogue, the game begins.
○ “Endless” has unlimited waves to challenge the players’ ability to live the longest without dying
Combat
● Long range weapons
○ Odysseus’s weapon is his bow, he can shoot his arrows
○ Telemachus can throw his spears
● Melee weapons
○ All suitors use melees, either swords or daggers, they cannot throw them
○ Odysseus can stab suitors with an arrow without stringing it
○ Telemachus can stab suitors with his spear
