Service AdvanceTrac® Malfunction Warning

Certain Everest and PX Ranger MkII vehicles built before May 30, 2016 may experience inoperative inverter power sockets when accompanied by a noise from below the steering wheel. The technical service bulletin provides a procedure to diagnose and replace the direct current/alternating current inverter if found faulty, including removing the body control module and inverter electrical connector before removing three retaining bolts and the inverter itself. The repair is reimbursable under warranty provisions.

Subject: Everest and PX Ranger MkII Inverter Power Sockets


Inoperative in Conjunction with a Customer Description of a

THIS TSB MUST BE APPLIED ON A CUSTOMER COMPLAINT BASIS ONLY

Models: Certain Everest and PX Ranger MkII vehicles built on or before 30-
May-2016

Summary: Certain Everest and PX Ranger MkII vehicles built on or before 30-
May-2016 may experience a concern of the inverter power sockets
not working in conjunction with a customer description
noise from below the steering wheel area.

Action: Should a vehicle present with the above concern, technicians are
advised to follow the Service Procedure below.

Warranty Status: Reimbursable within the provisions of the Warranty and Policy
Manual.

Service Procedure:

Step 1: Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM) Section: 414-05 Voltage


Converter/Inverter, Diagnosis and Testing, Direct Current/Alternating Current
(DC/AC) Inverter.

Is the DC/AC Inverter diagnosed as being faulty?

a. No, this TSB does NOT apply. Please refer to the WSM for normal
diagnosis/repair.
b. Yes, go to step 2.

Step 2: Replace the DC/AC Inverter. Refer to the Removal and Installation Procedure
below.

Removal and Installation Procedure:

1. Remove the Body Control Module (BCM). Refer to WSM Section: 419-
10 Multifunction Electronic Modules, Removal and Installation, Body Control
Module (BCM) RHD.

2. Disconnect the DC/AC Inverter electrical connector. (Figure 1-1)

3. Remove the DC/AC Inverter bracket retaining bolts x3 (Figure 1-2). Torque 10.5
Nm ± 1.6 Nm.

4. Remove the DC/AC Inverter.

5. Install the replacement DC/AC Inverter and reassemble the vehicle. Reverse
the Removal procedure.
