Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was an Indian independence activist and politician. He was born in 1875 in Nadiad, India and died in 1950. Patel practiced law and became involved in India's independence movement, joining the Indian National Congress. He rose to prominence for his role in the non-violent civil disobedience movement and later led efforts to convince princely states to join the Indian union. Patel was a trusted colleague of Mahatma Gandhi and went on to serve as Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of India.

 He use to help his father in farming and studied in a
school at N. K. High school, Petlad
 He passed his high-school examination in 1896
 Throughout school he was a very wise and intelligent
student
 He himself plan to study to become a lawyer, work and
save funds
 He travel to England and study to become a barrister
 He started his practice in Ahmadabad and soon he
became aware of local life, activities and people’s
problems
 He became an extremely popular person and he got
elected in Municipal Corporation in 1917
 Around 1915, he came across Mahatma Gandhi.
 The Swadeshi Movement was at its peal
 He won an election to become the sanitation
commissioner of Ahmedabad in 1917
 He gave speech in Borsad in September 1917,
encouraging Indians nationwide to sign Gandhi,s
petition demanding Swaraj independence fron British
 Meeting Gandhi a month later at Gujarat Political
conference in Godhra
 He became the secretary of Gujarat Sabha a public
body which would become the gujarati arm of the
Indian National Congress at Gandhi’s encouragement
