Detailed Lesson Plan Autosaved

The document provides the objectives, content, learning resources, and procedures for a lesson on heterogeneous and homogeneous mixtures for 6th grade students. The lesson aims to describe uniform and non-uniform mixtures, classify matter as heterogeneous and homogeneous mixtures, and develop scientific attitudes. Students will observe examples of mixtures, answer questions about the mixtures, and discuss the concepts. Formative assessment activities include a last man standing question round and a mix and match activity to classify mixtures.

the new lesson sa bagong aralin • Ask 4 volunteers to perform each task.
• Let the students observe the mixtures.

Mix the following and observe.

Task 1 – Put sand and water in a cup. Label the state of matter combined.
Task 2 – Put one spoonful cooking oil and one spoonful water on a cup. Label the state of
matter combined.
Task 3 – Put one spoonful vinegar and one spoonful soy sauce in a glass bowl. Label the
state of matter combined.
Task 4 – Put one tablespoonful white sugar into a glass of water. Label the state of matter
combined.

Based on the activity, students will answer the following questions:

Process questions:

1. What happened when sand and water combined? What is the appearance of the
mixture?
2. What happened when cooking oil and water combined? What is the appearance of
the mixture?
3. What happened when vinegar and soy sauce combined? What is the appearance of

#1  The teacher will use the previous activity to elaborate the discussion.
 Ask students to give examples.
 Emphasize the importance of identifying mixtures.
 Ask students on beneficial and harmful homogenous and heterogeneous mixtures.
A mixture is a combination of two or more physical materials (such as a solid, liquid and gas
materials). When the chemical system of a mixture has the same appearance and
properties, it is called homogeneous. When the chemical system of a mixture has non-
uniform appearance and different phases can be recognized, it is called heterogeneous.
