India’s GDP records 8.2 percent growth in Q1/FY19

Tender Review

The highest work order tender for the month was floated in this
sector. On 13 August 2018, the Water Resources Department,
Madhya Pradesh, invited bids for construction of a dam and
pressurised pipe irrigation system under Banda Major Irrigation
project in Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh on turnkey basis.
The cumulative value of the contract was `1,526.45 crore.

Also, the aggregate value of tenders floated by the Water


Resources Department, Madhya Pradesh, amounted to
`2,848.98 crore in August 2018.

Though the work proposed through tenders in the Roadways


sector recorded a downfall, the sector still remained at the first
position with 38 percent of the total share during August 2018.
Overall, 1,066 tenders worth `21,466 crore were floated in the
Roadways sector during August 2018 from 667 tenders worth
`28,662 in August 2017.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) issued one of


the most notable tenders for the month. On 23 August 2018,
NHAI invited bids for construction of eight-lane expressway of
Delhi-Vadodara Green field Alignment (NH-148N) in Haryana
on EPC Mode under Bharatmala Pariyojana. The cumulative
contract value was `1,017.68 crore.

by private and government entities entailed a total investment
of `4,057.95 crore. Of the total projects, 14 were owned by
private entities. A major project completed during the month
was owned by Kaithal Tollway, a special purpose vehicle (SPV)
of IRB Infrastructure Developers. On 28 August 2018, the
company completed the four-laning of Kaithal-Rajasthan
border section of NH-152/65 from 33.250 km to 241.580 km
