PHB - COB & Other Services

T24 services allow automated processing through service agents. The Close of Business (COB) runs as a T24 service, consisting of application, system-wide, reporting, start of day, and online stages. Each stage contains processes that run sequentially, with each process containing multi-threaded jobs defined in a BATCH file. Service agents update status files and log errors during COB processing. Other T24 services include SWIFT message formatting, securities corporate action processing, and statement printing.

 TSM is the T24 Service Manager
 TSM continuously checks if any other Service has
been marked to START
 If found, it will launch a number of Agents as
specified on the TSA.WORKLOAD.PROFILE record
attached to TSA.SERVICE
 It will monitor the Agents and launches new Agents
based on REVIEW.TIME and DEATH.WATCH
settings
 These Agents will run the Processes that are defined
for that Service

 Non Stop Processing and Close Of


Business compliment each other. Close Of
Business disallows input and processing of
records in all applications other than ones
supported by Non-Stop service.

Temenos Service Agents are invoked to run


the Close Of Business and they run and
update the file TSA.STATUS of their
progress and status.

Temenos Service Agents are invoked to run the Close

The process output of each agent Service Agent is also


saved in a COMO file.

Various enquiries are available that help in monitoring


the progress of COB and the records processed with
the time taken. They can also be accessed via the
Temenos Enterprise Console (tEC).

Close of Business consists of the following Stages:
Application Stage
System Wide Stage
Reporting Stage
Start of Day
Online

Each of these Stages is a set of Processes that run in a


specified sequence. Each Process is a set of Multi-
Threaded Jobs.

These Processes & Jobs are specified in BATCH file.

COB - Error Handling

 If an FATAL error occurs the system may return


immediately to the monitor screen and display the
process and the job in error.

 In the case of less severe errors, the error messages are


logged in EB.EOD.ERROR file and
EB.EOD.ERROR.DETAIL file.
