Assignment 1

HAVING TROUBLE WITH OUR NEW “CHIP AND PIN”

PAYMENT SYSTEM?

We have received complaints of our customers having problems of not

understanding the usage of the new debit cards.

Therefore in order to ensure the user-friendliness of this new system, worry no more

because we will be guiding you with the following instructions! Here’s what to do:

 When you visit any shops, they provide a machine which we called a ‘card reader’.
You will have to insert the card into the machine in order to do any kind of
payment. Also the shopkeeper will guide you step by step procedures.
 A card reader looks like a medium-sized calculator with a slot which can be fitted
by the card. It can then swiped into the slot for card recognition.
 You will be prompted to enter a set of PIN codes by pressing the number pads
available on the machine. After it is entered, follow the on-screen instructions and
complete the processes.
(PIN stands for Personal Identification Number. It is a set of secret numbers
defined by the card user. Pressing the numbers by the meantime will display
asterisk **** on the screen. If a ‘MISTAKE’ message is displayed, you will have to
press the CLEAR button and try again.
 If you have invalid password pressed 3 times, your card will be disabled and you
will not be able to use your card until you phone our customer support:
08 9325 1478.
