Okay. Be seated. Thank you teacher.

2. Checking of Attendance
Are all present today? Yes teacher.
Good to hear that all of you are present
today.

3. Drill
(Teacher will call one representative from
the first group and the second group.)
All you have to do is tell the place value of
the underlined number. If you got the correct
answer, step forward.

our new lesson.

5. Motivation:
I have a story of “The Very Hungry
Caterpillar”. Just listen and later I will ask
you some questions based from the story.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar


One story, in the light of the moon a little
egg lay on a leaf. One Sunday morning, the
warm sun came up and pop out of the egg
came a tiny but very hungry caterpillar He
started to look for some food.
So on Monday, caterpillar ate 1 apple. But
he’s still hungry.
So on Tuesday, caterpillar ate 2 pears. But
he’s still hungry.
So on Wednesday, caterpillar ate 3 grapes.
But he’s still hungry.
So on Thursday, caterpillar ate 4 oranges.
But he’s still hungry.
So on Friday, caterpillar ate 5 plums. But
he’s still hungry.
So on Saturday, caterpillar ate 6
strawberries. But he’s still hungry.
So on Sunday, caterpillar ate 1 nice green
leaf. The caterpillar wasn’t hungry anymore.

(Teacher asks questions.) The caterpillar ate 1 apple.


What did the caterpillar ate on Monday? The caterpillar ate 2 pears.
What about on Tuesday? The caterpillar ate 3 grapes.
Wednesday? The caterpillar ate 4 oranges.
Thursday? The caterpillar ate 5 plums.
Friday? The caterpillar ate 6 strawberries.
Saturday? The caterpillar ate 1 nice green leaf.
Sunday?

B. Developmental Activities
1. Presentation:
(The teacher will post the materials on the
board for the activity.)
This game is what we called “Picking
Flowers Relay.” I will group you into two.
Each group will have 7 members. So here’s
the mechanics of the game.
1. As you can see there are lot of flowers in
the garden having number on them.
2. As I say the number, the first set of
participants rush to board to pick the flower
corresponding to the dictated number.
3. The participant who gets the right number
gave it to the other team mates and write
those numbers to their appropriate place
value.
4. The game goes on. The group that has the
most flowers wins.
Let’s start the game.
The first number is 6,785,402.
Next, 456,723.
Third, 64,256,002.

Okay. So let’s check if who got the correct
answer and wins the game.
Group 2 got the 4 flowers correctly and they
place it on the appropriate place value
correctly and group 1 has only 3 flowers. So
that means Group 2 is the winner.
