SAP Production Version

A production version determines the bill of materials (BOM) and task list used to produce a material based on validity periods and lot sizes. Production versions are maintained in the material master view in MRP4 through transactions MM01 and MM02. The selection method must be set to either 2 or 3 to use production versions. Production versions can be set based on valid date ranges or lot size ranges for production orders.

A production version determines which alternative BOM is used together with which task list/master recipe to produ

For one material, you can have several production versions for various validity periods and lot-size ranges.

Production Version is maintained in the material master in MRP4 view through MM01/MM02

To use the production version option, you need to select "Selection Method" as either 2 or 3
Production version can be set based on the two paramteres
1. Based on the dates for which the Prod. Vesion would be valid
2. Based on the lot size for which the Production order is created

To use the production version, the setting for the Order Type Dependant Parameters in OPL8 should be done for Pro
