DVC Scholarship Personal Statement
June 18, 2019

To finish my educational degree is one my greatest dream. I have been striving to pursue
it, but because of untoward circumstances, I failed.

I took Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at Ateneo de Davao University last June
2003 to October 2006. Due to financial problem I was not able to continue my studies. I
started working as computer technician in a private institution to earn and save money
for my education.

In 2012, I transferred to AMA Computer Learning Center and took an associate degree
in Software Development and graduated on April 2014.

However, I haven’t attained my desire to finish an educational degree, so I have decided


to continue my studies and took BSIT in Davao Vision College last June 2014.

After two school years in DVC, I was not able to continue my studies due to financial
difficulty. So I continue working in a private institution, instead.

This time, I am certain to finish my degree. I am currently 4th year BSIT student. The money
I earned and saved is not enough to support my studies since I took the special class due
to the change of curriculum.

The DVC Scholarship provides a chance for people who are struggling to return to school,
to become the exception and succeed. I hope to become one of those special people
and it is with great honor and appreciation that I submit this letter for your consideration.
