The Dominican School of Sta. Rita SCIENZONISMS Club aims to develop students' interest and skills in science. In the 2018-2019 school year, the club focused on developing a positive mindset to cope with changes in society. Activities during science week included exhibits, experiments, quizzes and posters. The club was successful in reflecting on the importance of teamwork and guidance. For next year, the club plans to add more activities and share scientific information more regularly with bulletin posts and monthly experiments.

I. Introduction

In the field of science, one’s abilities can be developed through the sense of
awareness, creativeness and inventiveness. Along this line of thought, the Dominican
School of Sta. Rita SCIENZONISMS Club aims to provide an environment wherein
students can express their creative minds and share endless discoveries through proper
scientific processes.

It proposes to provide more information, opportunities and occasions for students


to pursue and widen their interest in science in an informal situation and atmosphere.
In addition, it also encourages the students to develop innovativeness, resourcefulness
and camaraderie.

Given the proper guidance and direction, members explore the ever changing world
of science. To satisfy the curiosity of the students, this organization provides various
channels for self-discovery and experimentation.

Lastly, it teaches students to appreciate science as a discipline including the


different personalities who contributed much to its growth as of today.

II. Objectives
The Dominican School of Sta. Rita SCIENZONISMS Club aims to develop the art of
inquiry and curiosity among its members for them to better understand the science of the world
they belong. Most importantly, the organization aims to:

 help students acquire essential knowledge about science


 guide students to discover explanation for common science phenomena
 share with other students new bits of scientific information and latest
inventions
 improve scientific knowledge through scientific experiments
 arouse interest in unraveling new concepts and ideas through different
scientific processes
 develop teamwork, cooperation, innovativeness and resourcefulness

III. Highlights of Accomplishments

For this year’s theme, “SciMath.Com – Catalyst for Positive Change: “Developing positive
minds for a positive world”; the general objective of SCIENZONISMS club is to inculcate the
attitude of having a positive mindset to its members in coping with the drastic changes that happens
in today’s society through games and experiments. In addition, having critical thinking and
problem solving skills are not enough if not paired with the right mindset. The SCIENZONISMS
club together with the computer club and math club celebrated a week full of excitement and thrill
by conducting different activities started September 24 – 27, 2018.
The SCIENZONISMS club and its respective members organized an exhibit of outputs
related to science such as models and mock-ups. But the most awaited part of the week was the
performance of different scientific experiments. Aside from it, the SCIENZONISMS also
supervised quiz bee and poster making. All in all, the week full of activities is a success.
Truly having these activities help us to reflect in some areas that we cannot do these all
without the help of each other, the help of the officers, the members of each clubs, the participation
of all clubs, the suggestions of the colleague, the advice and guidance of our Directress Sr. Marietta
L. Badua, O.P and above all, our foundation the giver of everything to our Almighty God for His
unfailing and sufficient love for us.

IV. Recommendations

For the next year, we are planning to add more activities during the science week such as sci-
awit, sci-dance contest and animal exhibit. Moreover, we are also planning to have our own
bulletin board for us to post scientific trivia and facts weekly. The members are also expected to
conduct a special experiment monthly during their free time to provide knowledge and amazement
to non-members.
