Trus list of publications of my grandparents speaks Berkeley polychaete collection were transferred
for itself both as to their contribution to polychaete to the Smithsonian Institution with the help of
taxonomy and the wide range of their other in- Dr Marian H. Pettibone. Pettibone (1967) describes
terests. It should be noted that prior to the first these specimens, and syntypes and paratypes earlier
world war my grandfather published as C. Bergtheil. deposited in the British Museum.

I have included one paper that they did not write I am grateful to Dr W. S. Hoar for checking two
