Grammar Rules

Subject-verb agreement is an important grammar rule. A singular subject takes a singular verb, while a plural subject takes a plural verb. The subject of a sentence determines the verb form, even if it comes before a phrase starting with "of", which is a common source of subject-verb mistakes.
