and contextual cues; appropriate and polite oral language, stance, and behavior; and
use of imperatives, prepositions, verbs, and wh- questions.
Performance Standards:
The learner transfers learning by: explaining the needs to be cooperative and
responsible in today’s global village; using appropriate strategies to comprehend
extended text types; using lexical and contextual clues to understand unfamiliar words
and expressions; using imperatives, prepositions, and appropriate and polite oral
language, stance and behavior in various information-sharing formats.

Learning Competency/Objectives:
 Discover through Philippine literature the need to work cooperatively and
responsibly in today’s global village.
 Formulate who, what, when, where, why and how questions.

IV. PROCEDURE:

A. Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the new lesson.


Students will think of the significant experiences that they have had with their
mother.

B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson. (Motivation)


Students will watch a short movie film about mother’s love.

C. Presenting examples/instances of the new lesson. (Presentation)


The lesson will introduce to the students and unlocking of difficult
words.

D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new concepts. (Skill)


The students will watch the presentation of students who perform the
poem in a speech choir manner. They will also be given a copy of the poem.
E. Developing Mastery
Formulate the following Wh- questions, answer each question with your
group. Show cooperation and be responsible in doing your activity.
1. Who matters most to the youth, his desires or his mother?
2. What did the maiden ask for her suitor to prove his love?
3. When did the suitor realized that her mother love him so much?
4. Why did the suitor took his mother’s heart?
5. How did the mother show her love to her child?

F. Finding practical application of concepts and skills in daily living.


Make a thank you card for your parents. Think of your own design and
a message to show your love for your mother.

G. Making generalizations and abstractions about the lesson.


What lesson did you learn from the poem?

H. Evaluating Learning.
A short quiz will be given to the students.
