About Asian Paints
Since its foundation in 1942, Asian Paints has come a long way to become India’s largest and Asia’s third
largest paint company. Asian Paints operates in 19 countries and has 26 paint manufacturing facilities in
the world, servicing consumers in over 65 countries.
Asian Paints has always been a leader in the paint industry, pushing new concepts in India like
Colour Worlds, Home Solutions, Colour Next, and Kids’ World.
Asian Paints aims to become one of the top five decorative coatings companies world-wide by
leveraging its expertise in the higher growth emerging markets. Simultaneously, the company intends to
build long term value in the industrial coatings business through alliances with established global partners.
As a world-class training institution,
Asian Paints Colour Academy helps in
creating modern age paint applicators
and decorators.
Asian Paints has been engaged in training painters on new finishes, techniques, modern paints and
technology since 2005. It all started with the requirement of training contractors for our professional
painting setup - Asian Paints Ezycolour Home Solutions. The training then was focused mostly on
O L O U R A C A D E MY customer service, behaviour at site along with novel ideas of masking and hygiene requirements of site
C evaluation. Initially this training setup was called 'Asian Paints Training Centre' whose training was limited
to the requirements of Asian Paints Ezycolour Home Solutions. In the following years, training painters saw
a genesis in seeding a new finish which required skilled application - 'Royal Play'. Royal Play became the
defector training which was given to already existing painters. The training indeed helped them offer
something new to customers and in-turn earn more from their daily work. In 2008 Asian Paints setup its
first Colour Academy in Chennai to train painters and contractors from the market.

• Do I have any proof of training to show to the customer?
National Skill Development Corporation recognizes quality skill and aims to bridge the training gaps
given the wide requirement of skilled labour in the country. To identify such skill, NSDC facilitates training
as per set course modules signed off by the body and then issues NSDC Certificates to skilled labourers.
• Courses are certified by the Govt. of India
• The training given to painters will be recognized by NSDC
• This certificate registers contractors and they can undergo advanced trainings at a later stage in their cities.
