SWOT ANALYSIS

Strengths

 Single Established company:

Coca cola is the international brand and it is the market leader. The biggest strength of coca cola
is that it is large company with 13 plants in all large cities which plants are running under the
supervision of CC. CC adopt same policy for the running of all plants and there is no conflict
between their decision and policies. One decision taken and implemented in all plants of the
Pakistan without any argument. So you can see the same price, "same quality and same schemes
in all the cities of Pakistan."

 Working Structure:

"The organizational structure of coca cola is international standards nature, therefore there is well
defined policies, procedures rules and regulations that are followed under all situations , so
working style of coke is very professional and discipline is maintained here."
 Human Resource:

"The biggest strength of Coca Cola is its intellectual brain power of highly professional qualified
and dedicated employees who put all their efforts to satisfy their customers and to achieve their
ultimate goal by providing the best service."

 Proper Delivery Time:

On delivery time is the another strength of coke. The fixed time delivery by coke to retailers,
shopkeepers etc. and punctuality is maintained and it gives the advantage to coke over its all
competitors.

 Brand Name, Symbol and Bottle Shape:

These are the strength of coke which give advantage to coke over its all competitors. The shape
of coca cola is very unique and stylish and its name is very easy and people can easily call it coca
cola. And they can call it only coke. Similarly its symbol is also unique and no one imitate it.

 Superior Product Quality:

The management of coca cola is never compromise on the quality even they have little extra
spend on the production. Bottle caps is the one of the example ( disposable bottles is in best
quality than other beverages). Coke taste is also good and no beverage compete its taste.

‘Weaknesses

 ‘Limitation of Resources:’

‘The biggest weakness of coke is the limitation of resources. They completely depend on finance
from the Coca Cola International based in USA. Coke is not able to supply freezer, coolers
because they have no enough resources. So it is the cause of low growth.’

 Non Availability:
‘Another weakness is non availability of coke in small towns and rural areas. The reason behind
is that distribution channel is not large who serve coke in the rural areas. Coke is not extended
owing to limitations of resources and lack of proper infrastructure.’

 ‘Formality of Rules and Regulations:’

‘The organizational structure of coca cola is too formal. They take decisions and implementation
required lengthy process according to hierarchy system of coke. It may be threat for organization. GM
is not allowed to take decision to change over smallest things in beverage bottles. So, many
innovative and brilliant ideas to improve a d boost sales remain locked up in the mind of the
employees because they are not allowed to work on their own will or consent.’

‘Opportunities’

 Diversify their portfolio:

CCBP can diversify its business portfolio by introducing new brands.

 Expansion:

‘Coke has 36% market share in Pakistan. Pepsi leads 54% market share and 10% holds other
small beverages such as maka cola, Pak cola etc. So, there is huge opportunity for coke to capture
the 70% market share and expand its product line. CCI can expand its market shares with little
effort’.

 Possible growing demand:

Launch new product with successfully. Line extension like Fanta, sprite in different flavors
Through this coke meet the demand of customers..

 Increasing its distribution channels:

Increasing infrastructure and distribution channels to ensure availability in small areas, rural and
backward areas.

 Develop training programs

Develop training and research programs for for fresh graguates and create jobs that influence its
share in market.
 Awareness of new forces

Conduct research & development on timely basis to be aware of new forces in market and get
benefit from them.

 Enhanced its worth

Enhance company worth by changing criteria for recruitment and selection. For example, if
targets are set to be promoted then this will encourage serious attitudes among staff and
employees as well.

Threats

 Major Threat:

Pepsi and its product hold high market share and covered maximum market. So this is the threat
for coke.

 ‘New Entrants’

‘New entrants such as Maka cola, Pak cola sell at low prices and it is source of the threat for coke
in future. And they fully launch their products in the Pakistan market so management of coke has
to look out for them over time.’

 Taxes

‘The management of coca cola is not happy with the Govt. tax laws and policies. It has to pay as
much as 2.97/- as tax to the government.

 Changing Environment

Environment changes very rapidly, it will be threat if it will not cope with changes.

 Hard rules and regulations

Very hard and fast rules and regulations will cause delays in every procedure because it requires a
long process of approvals. This is more time consuming.

Internship Report Coca Cola

CONCLUSION

Throughout this study, beverages sector is defined in terms of services and products. With its huge network it
is operating worldwide as a largest beverage industry having its Head office at Lahore (A).

It was a brilliant experience to work at all the departments and understanding their procedures of handling
their work and looking towards their strong commitment and positive aspects which are concerned with
Organization Overall culture of the company is very peaceful and I feel proud to work at coke. They have
great culture and people make it a fun work atmosphere. Through this internship my interpersonal skills and
knowledge has been improved and increased. The work culture of coca cola is filled with diverse workforce.
The departments of coke are open and anyone can communicate and coordinate with each others with freely.
The attitudes and behaviors of the coke staff was very good and soft.

RECOMMANDATIONS
After completing my report I have some suggestions for a coke Company, which are below;

 Give freedom to their employees:

Coca Cola Company should provide the facility of freedom to its employees . Freedom in sense of they are
not bound for doing some innovative. I observe that employees cannot give some innovative ideas to their
supervisors because they have no freedom to do something their own.The innovative ideas remain in their
mind because of boundness.

 Availability of coke:

The marketing team of Coca Cola should provide the cold drinks in rural areas. They should advertise
their products in the best and attractable way. They should focus on the rural areas. They should also focus
on all people.

48
Internship Report Coca Cola
 Invest profit:

Company should invest its profits for future projects which give them more growth and productivity as well
and getting high market share and margins. Also high investment into the products of Fanta and Sprite which
are placed with high quantity in the market.

 Motivate to Employees:

If company want to increase its market share it should focus on its employees because employees are the
worth of the organization. Organization should motivate to its employees through giving them some benefits
and rewarding them in shapes of money or cash. Because people are attract by money so if company want to
increase its productivity it should motivate its employees with cash or money.

 Decision Making:

Decision making is the main thing of any organization. Employees have no right of
decision making. Authorities make decision at any level. I think organization should give the right of decision
making to its employees. If organization give them this right then they become more responsible about their
job and organization as well. And through this they work hard and they produce more productivity and in this
way the growth of organization has been increased.
