INSTRUCTIONS:

Did you know that the film industry makes many movies about unethical practices?
Watch a movie and write an analysis of what it says about business ethics. You
are required to discuss your arguments/views/conclusion and provide your own
recommendations.

The choice of the movie is up to you to decide, but do make sure that it is related to
Business Ethics. Herewith is a list of movies related to Business Ethics that you
may choose from (however, you may also suggest a movie of your choice and
obtain approval from your lecturer):-

1. Your assignment should include:


 A short summary of the story;
 Identification of at least three (3) relevant issues about business
ethics presented by or suggested in the movie, i.e., what business
ethics issues were portrayed in the movie?
 Based on each of the 3 relevant issues about business ethics
portrayed in the movie, do the following:
o Briefly describe how the issue was portrayed.
o How was the issue resolved, if at all?
o How should the issue have been resolved?

 Your views/arguments about the adequateness of the movie’s
perspective on business ethics;
 Your recommendations – you can support your recommendations with
real world cases or examples.
 Overall what did you learn from this exercise?

Group work

 Each group member must actively participate in the completion of the assignment.
Free-riding is unethical and extremely unfair to fellow group members.
 Each group member is expected to keep the contact numbers and e-mail addresses
of the other members of the group.
 The group leader has the responsibility to ensure that all group members play a part
in the completion of the assignment. The group leader is also responsible to ensure
that all members’ names are written on the final submission.
 It is the responsibility of each group member to ensure that the final submission is
complete and of the acceptable standard. Should any errors or omission occurred in
the final submission, each group member is held accountable for negligence – in
other words, failure to perform their responsibilities as expected.
