RUQYA TREATMENT

The Reality of Magic

Black Magic (seher) and the Evil eye are fact. They exist and have
always existed since the dawn of history. Our Beloved Prophet
Muhammad ( ‫ )سلم و عليه هللا صلى‬was inflicted by Black Magic and he
remained under its influence until Allah (SWT) sent Angels to
inform him of what was done and where it was hidden. Surah Nass
and Falaq were revealed to deal with that particular type of Black
Magic. This is not fiction.

The Quran was not just sent to tell us right from wrong but also as
a “Healing“.

Allah (SWT) created everything in the heavens and on the earth

and He says that He created everything by the power of His
WORDS.

His command is only when He intends a thing that He says to

it, “Be,” and it is

(36:82)

Thus Allah’s words have power and He has sent us His words in
the form of Holly Quran. If only humans in general and Muslims in
particular could fully grasp that concept, the world will be a better
place. The power of Allah’s words is evident from the story of
Prophet Sulaiman and Queen Sheba and also from this verse
below.
Had We sent down this Qur’an on a mountain, you would
surely have seen it humbling itself and rending asunder by the
fear of Allah. Such are the parables which We put forward to
mankind that they may reflect.

(59:21)

For Allah to send us His words and messenger is the greatest

blessing ever and is the ultimate act of mercy.

“And We have not sent you (o Mohammad), except as a mercy

to the worlds (men and jinn)”

(21:107)

Ruqyah is the process by which selected verses of the Quran are

recited following a specific sequence to heal physical, emotional,
mental and spiritual diseases of mankind.

Definition of magic:

Magic and its existence is confirmed by the Qur’an and Sunnah

and is agreed upon by all the scholars. It is a reality and a truth. It
affects a person only by Allah’s will (meaning Allah has allowed it
to work). There is a consensus among the scholars of Tafseer that
Surah Al-Falaq was revealed because of Habeebbin Asum who did
magic on the Prophet ( ‫)سلم و عليه هللا صلى‬. Magic is an art that requires
skill and proficiency from the one who performs it. It is a type of
knowledge that has a foundation, methodology and principles.
However, learning it is not permissible and it is kufr (disbelief)
because it cannot be learned or practiced without requesting the
help of Shaytan, worshipping him, and using forbidden and
unlawful things. So it is kufr to learn or practice it Black magic is an
incantation, knot, or spell done by the magician/saaher with special
rituals that involve worshipping and invoking upon shayaateen.
Depending on the type of magic/sehr done, it has a direct affect on
the heart, body and/or intellect of the victim without having direct
contact with that person. It is a reality that kills, causes sickness, or
prevents relationships (sexual) between a man and his wife,
causes separation between them, or between families, places
anger between families or friends, and causes a person to love
those whom he hates in order to have a relationship and to be a
source of spreading destruction.

Witchcraft and sorcery are also common ways to manipulate jinns

into afflicting harm on people. So, what is black magic? In a
nutshell, it is the use of negative energy and powers, summoning
devils and shayateen (plural of shaytan) by evil minded people who
are dedicated to harm or deprive others from living peaceful lives
through sickening means. Black magicians would generally
summon evil spirits by performing sacrificial rituals of humans or
animals, depending on the severity of the magic. Once they acquire
control over the spirit they are able to cause chaos in any aspect of
people’s lives whether it is wealth, career, unexplainable health
problems, family problems/tensions, mental illnesses, marriage
problems, abnormal behavior and in extreme cases; death. They
experience an evil kind satisfaction at the expense of others
hardship. Such horrid people are generally driven towards this
sickening act due to jealousy, greed, selfishness, negativity and the
inability to acknowledge other’s happiness and growth. This really
is a huge problem in our society and unfortunately it has escalated
in the last few years. The worst thing about it is that the main
suspects are usually relatives, close friends, associates and even
siblings (This is not always the case, but generally in certain
communities this is how it is). There are serious consequences for
those who dwell in black magic such as coming out of the fold of
Islam as the Prophet ( ‫ )سلم و عليه هللا صلى‬mentioned:
“He is not of us, the one who sees evil omens, or the one the one
whose behalf they are seen, or the one who practices soothsaying,
or the one on whose behalf it is practiced; or the one who practices
sorcery, or the one for whom sorcery is done.”
(At-Tabaraanee)

Imam Ibn Hajar (rahimuhullah) said: ” Magic is disbelief and

learning it is kufr.” Fath ul Bari 10/195.
Imam An-Nawawi (rahimuhullah) said: ” The knowledge of magic
is forbidden and it is among the major sins.” Fatawa Ibn Baz 2/384.

The Prophet ( ‫ )سلم و عليه هللا صلى‬included it among the major sins
that destroy mankind and needs to be kept away from.

Ibn Qudaamah said: ” teaching and learning magic is forbidden

and there is no difference on the issue by the scholars.” Al-
Mughnee 8/151

The Punishment for Magicians:

The punishment for magicians is beheading. The Prophet ( ‫هللا صلى‬

‫ )سلم و عليه‬said: ” The punishment for a magician is beheading.”

Umar (RA) ordered all magicians to be killed in his time. This

proves the severity of magic. So it is compulsory on us to keep
away from magic and anything that is connected to it.

Black Magic or Sihr is an evil practice, existence of which has been

confirmed by Allah in Quran:
“And they followed [instead] what the devils had recited during the
reign of Solomon. It was not Solomon who disbelieved, but the
devils disbelieved, teaching people magic and that which was
revealed to the two angels at Babylon, Harut and Marut. But the
two angels do not teach anyone unless they say, “We are a trial,
so do not disbelieve [by practising magic].” And [yet] they
learn from them that by which they cause separation between a
man and his wife. But they do not harm anyone through it except by
permission of Allah . And the people learn what harms them and
does not benefit them. But the Children of Israel certainly knew that
whoever purchased the magic would not have in the Hereafter any
share. And wretched is that for which they sold themselves, if they
only knew.” [Surah 2, Verse 102]

Have you heard of this before Salah rids one’s of sins, fasting rids
one’s of sins so listen to this as well. ALLAH loves to see his
creation to live in love so much so that when a husband and wife
quarrel, then make up (i.e., they forgive each other, cleanse their
hearts and exchange gifts), just for this,ALLAH would forgive them
their sins. ALLAH says the regret of the sinners leaves ME more
impressed than the Piety of the Pious, so hasten to get your sins
forgiven.

A person can not be a Muslim and a Magician in the same time.

The person who is engaged in Magic is a servant of the Shaytaan
(Devil). A person cannot become a Magician until he reaches the
highest form of disbelief from which there is rarely any return. The
Shayataan promises him richness and fame. Some people enter in
field of magic because of doubts in their heart regarding
Allah, some enter in this field because of their desires and this is
the majority. The Magician cannot practice Magic without
committing Shirk without committing disbelief, without committing
one of the strongest and most Evil disbelieves of the law of
Allah Subhana wa taala. It is an act that will take a person out of
the fold of Islam.

Iblees sets his throne in water and then shayaateen (his

workers) come and report to him all the mischeif that they have
done, one that would come and say: I have good news for you, I
did not leave the husband and wife until I separated them. Iblees
would say, “you are the one” and he hugs him and makes him sit
next to him. A magician is both, a kafir and the one who seeks the
help of shayaateen.

Iblees
(satan) said, “My Lord, because You have put me in error,
I will surely make
[disobedience] attractive to them on earth, and I
will mislead them all
Except, among them, Your chosen servants.
Allah said, This is a path [of return] to Me [that is] straight
Indeed, My servants
no authority will you have over them, except those who follow
you of the deviators
And indeed, Hell is the promised place for them all.
It has seven gates; for every gate is of them a portion desi
gnated.”
Indeed, the righteous will be within gardens and springs.
(Quran 15: 39-45 )

Indeed, there is for him no authority over those who have b

elieved and rely upon their Lord.
His authority is only over those who take
him as an ally and those who through him
associate others with Allah . (Quran 16: 99-100)

The Sermon of Iblees to the Disbelievers on the Day of

Judgement:
Shaytan disowns His Followers on the Day of Resurrection; And
Shaytaan will say when the matter has been decided, “Verily, Allah
promised you a promise of truth. And I too promised you, but I
betrayed you. I had no authority over you except that I called you,
and you responded to me. So blame me not, but blame yourselves.
I cannot help you, nor can you help me. I deny your former act in
associating me (Shaytan) as a partner with Allah (by obeying me
in the life of the world). Verily, there is a painful torment for the
wrongdoers.” (Ibrahim 14:22)
Allah narrates to us what Iblees will say to his followers after Allah
finishes with the judgement between His servants, sending the
believers to the gardens of Paradise and the disbelievers to the
lows (of the Fire). Iblees, may Allah curse him, will stand and
address the latter, in order to add depression to their depression,
sorrow to their sorrow and grief to their grief.
Allah said in another Ayah, “he (Shaytaan) makes promises to
them, and arouses in them false desires; and Shaytan’s promises
are nothing but deceptions.” (4:120)
(I had no authority over you) Shaytan will say, `I had no proof for
what I called you to, nor evidence for what I promised you, (except
that I called you, and you responded to me.) even though the
Messengers establish the proof and unequivocal evidences
against you and affirmed the truth of what they were sent to you
with. But you disobeyed the Messengers and ended up earning this
fate, (So blame me not,) today, (but blame yourselves.), because it
is your fault for defying the proofs and following me in the falsehood
that I called you to.’
Shaytan will say next, (I cannot help you), I cannot benefit, save,
or deliver you from what you are suffering, (nor can you help me.),
nor can you save me and deliver me from the torment and
punishment I am suffering, (I deny your former act of associating
me (Shaytan) as a partner with Allah.) or because you associated
me with Allah before,’
according to Qatadah. Ibn Jarir commented; “I deny being a partner
with Allah, the Exalted and Most Honored.” This opinion is the most
plausible, for Allah said in other Ayat, (And who is more astray than
one who calls on others besides Allah, such as will not answer him
till the Day of Resurrection, and who are (even) unaware of their
calls to them And when mankind are gathered, they will become
their enemies and will deny their worshipping.) (46:5-6) and, (Nay,
but they (the so-called gods) will deny their worship of them, and
become opponents to them.)(19:82) Allah said next, (Verily, the
wrongdoers), who deviate from truth and follow falsehood, will earn
a painful torment. It appears that this part of the Ayah narrates the
speech that Shaytan will deliver to the people of the Fire after they
enter it, as we stated. `Amir Ash-Sha`bi said, “On the Day of
Resurrection, two speakers will address the people. Allah the
Exalted will say to `Isa, son of Maryam, (Did you say unto men:
“Worship me and my mother as two gods besides Allah”) (5:116)
until, (Allah will say: “This is a Day on which the truthful will profit
from their truth.”)(5:119) Shaytan, may Allah curse him, will stand
and address the people, (I had no authority over you except that I
called you, and you responded to me.) Allah next mentioned the
final destination of the miserable ones, who earned the disgrace
and torment and having to listen to Shaytan address them, then He
mentioned the final destination of the happy ones.

So if you are a magician or you are the one who seeks his services
then bear in mind that no magic is done without involving Allah’s
creation

The Messenger of Allah ( ‫ )سلم و عليه هللا صلى‬said: “From the most
beloved of deeds to Allah is to make a believer happy and remove
a grief from him or
to repay his debt or to satisfy his hunger.” -Sunan al Bayhaqi.

“Allah will remain committed to helping His servant as long as the

servant remains committed to helping his Brother.” -Sahih Muslim.

“No Man forsakes a Muslim when his rights are being violated or
his honour is being belittled except that Allah will forsake him at a
place in which

he would love to have His help.”

“And no Man helps a Muslim at a time when his honor is being

belittled or his rights violated except that Allah will help him at a
place in which he loves to have His help.”

-Sunan Abi Dawud

“Seek help amongst your weak ones, for you are only given
provision and help because of the weak amongst you “-Sunan Abi

“Whoever among you wakes up secure in his property, healthy in

his body, and he has his food for the day; it is as if he were given
the entire world ” – Tirmidhi

If Allah were to punish men according to what they deserve,

He would not leave on the back of the (earth) a single living
creature but He gives them respite for a stated Term: when their
Term expires, verily Allah has in His sight all His Servants. Alquran
35 :45
So whatever thing you have been given – it is but [for] enjoyment
of the worldly life. But what is with Allah is better and more lasting
for those who have believed and upon their Lord rely” (42:36)

“Do not be people without minds of your own, saying that if others
treat you well you will treat them well and that if they do wrong you
will do wrong. But (instead) accustom yourselves to do good if
people do good and not to do wrong if they do evil.” Prophet
Muhammad ( ‫ )سلم و عليه هللا صلى‬as reported in Al-Tirmidhi.

Symptoms
Psychological or Mystical ?

There is a difference between psychological and mystical

problems. The later one is usually due to black magic and/or jinn
possession. Most psychologist reject the existence of mystical
problems even though they could not solve the patient’s problem;
this is because psychology does not believe in the existence of
jinns or black magic. However, we as muslim have to believe in the
existence of jinn and sihr because Allah has talked about jinns in
the Quran. Also, our Prophet (‫ )سلم و عليه هللا صلى‬was affected by sihr
as a result of which Allah sent the last two Surahs of Quran. If you
have the feelings that you have been influenced by black magic but
not sure about it, then please contact me for a professional
discussion and advice.

Some patients are suffering from serious Psychological problems

but that does not exclude the possibility of being affected by Black
Magic. But sometimes the Psychological problem is GRAVER than
the problem of Sihr/Jinn possession or and it also happens that
the Psychological problem prevents the patient to be cured of the
black magic and the Jinns because he is Psychologically too much
touched it gives some strength to the Jinns and to the Witchcraft to
dominate him. So it is necessary to treat him at the came time for
the Psychological problems and for the Mystic problems.
And normally happens due to the presence of the jinn in human
body and in this case the brain the jinn often leave a damage and
after the Jinns are removed Patients are advised to seek Medical
Treatment.

Case hard and impossible

The impossible cases are those where the patient has suffered
irreversible changes, physical or mental. When a person becomes
physically disabled or mentally retarded because of witchcraft
suffered early in childhood or even in the womb or the mother who
had witchcraft for children with disabilities, even if remove
witchcraft, the effect that the patient has suffered irreversible. We
can still expect a slight improvement and relief of the sick, and limit
the deterioration of his condition he is in constant degradation. So,
we do not give false hope to the family and explain well the limits
of our possibilities.

When a child has a jinn who has dominated his young age, the
problem is that he has never had personality and never had
possession of his body. Can optionally remove witchcraft, which
partially relieve the person, but we cannot (according to the current
state of our knowledge) to remove the jinn, because if it comes out,
that will be the master of the body? This is actually a body without
a master other than the djinn. These words have been confusing:
we speak of someone totally possessed since his youngest age,
who has not attended school, which does not behave like a normal
child but rather a living animal. So the human being in him was
never expressed.
Symptoms of sihr (Sorcry)

There are many symptoms of black magic. One of them is someone

will feel fever and the fever may be high and can cause death. The
second symptom is headache. Someone can feel that his head is
really heavy and cannot do any work. The third symptom is
tiredness. When black magic has done to us, we will feel that our
body is not active. We will always go to sleep. The fourth symptom
is dry cough. We will cough continuously although we are healthy.
Then the next symptoms is sore throat. We will suffer from a bad
sore throat. Another symptoms is stuffy and congested nose.
Someone who suffer from black magic will feel uncomfortable with
the nose. The last symptoms of black magic is muscle aches and
stiffness. They will feel pain at their muscle suddenly. Not only that,
we also will feel a mental block and we get disturbed with bad
dreams and finally we will have a negative thoughts. There is also
heaviness and weight on the heart and constriction in the throat.

Sihr (Sorcery) is always done to harm the victim and the type of
harm includes but not restricted to:

1. Experiencing Strange feelings such as:

1. Someone is watching you

2. Someone is following you
3. Someone is touching you
4. Hearing noises that people around you can not
5. You are scared of looking into the mirror

2. Blockages in life against:

1. Work
2. Education
3. Marriage
4. Money
5. Relationships with family and others

3. Experiencing abnormal health problems such as:

1. Unexplained pain in particular part of body

2. Scratches appearing
3. infertility and Impotence
4. Feeling unnecessary anger
5. Sadness without any reason
6. Loss of memory
7. Being tired all the time

4. Having nightmares and seeing:

1. Snakes
2. Dogs
3. Masked person
4. Cemetery, dead people
5. High places, climb, fall or fly
6. Fire
7. Fish
8. Cars, vehicles

Treatment
Quran: 17:82
And We send down of the Qur’an that which is healing and
mercy for the believers,
but it does not increase the wrongdoers except in loss.
The Blessed Prophet ( ‫)سلم و عليه هللا صلى‬. said that the best
remedy is quraan.

1. Treating sihr involves:

2. Ruqya Recitation over patient
3. Ruqya Bath
4. Ruqya Food and Water
5. Ruqya Olive Oil for body massage
6. Senna Leaves
7. Hijama
8. Jinn Catching

Hijama (Cupping)
Hijama is also sunnah. To the nearest effect, our Prophet PBUH
said that hijama is cure for 40 diseases. Hijama is used to take out
the sihr which the jinns might have brought and left in the body of
the patient. However, reciting Ruqya while doing hijama is
necessary. How to get hijama (cupping) done for Seher ( Magic)
removal: Ask the cupper to put the cups where you experience pain
or any type of discomfort, when the cups are set ask some one who
has knowledge about Ruqya recitation to recite for you, you can
find the appropriate recitation verses from the link shown in this
web site. Before recitation done close your eyes, ask ALLAH to
remove any negative, pain, discomfort you might experiencing and
listen carefully while your eyes are closed and do not attempt
to repeat the recitation only listen carefully, after the recitation
normally takes 20 minutes you can open your eyes, and the cups
removed. This Inshaalah will free your body from Seher

Dua (Supplications)
The Ruqya Sharia is a special collections of Quranic verses and
authentic Prophetic Supplications. With the will and power of Allah,
the reading serves as cure for conditions such as seher (Black
Magic), Al mass (Touch of shaytan), ain (Evil Eye) and other
related ailments.
The muslim scholars have through out the ages advocated that
placing reliance upon Allah along with daily readings of Quranic
verses and Prophetic supplications are an effective way of
protecting and shielding ourselves from all kinds of afflictions and
adverse situations in our lives. They help us to attain the Divine
help and cure for our distress and ward off evil of His creation. One
of the greatest means of protecting and combating oneself against
the evil effects of witchcraft, evil eye/envy and jinn is to persist in
regularly reciting the Adhkaar (azkaar). Those who have tried these
supplications for refuge from Allah on a regular basis (i.e., in the
morning and evening, everyday) know their value and benefit.
Dua are more easily accepted when one performs the Faraidh
(Obligatory duties including five times salah, fasting in ramadan,
hijab et.). None of the Nawafil (voluntary or sunnah) acts can
replace the fardh. Therefore, it is mandatory to fulfil all the Faraidh.
Those who can read Arabic or transliteration, must read the
translation of the dua to grasp its meaning. This way, one would
know what one is invoking Allah for. As the Prophet( ‫و عليه هللا صلى‬
‫ )سلم‬said, (to the nearest effect) dua that have been made from heart
are more likely to be accepted. This page contains dua for
protection, hardship and some adhkaar. All dua and adhkaar are
from Quran and sunnah.

punishment, and from the evil of His servants, and from the
madness and appearance of devils.’

And verily, those who disbelieve would almost make you slip
with their eyes through hatredness when they hear the
Reminder (the Qur’an), and they say: “Verily, he (Muhammad )
is a madman!”. But it is nothing else than a Reminder to all
the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).
Virtues: Recite three times for evil eye.

Dua for Insomnia

Khalid bin Walid (radiAllahu anhu) reported that once he suffered
from insomnia.
The Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said to him, “Shall I teach
you words that will make you go to sleep when you say them? Say
(the below):
‫موات َربَّ اللَّ ُه َّم‬ َ ‫س‬

Lord of the seven earths and whatever they contain, Creator of the
devils and whoever they mislead, Be my Protector from the evil of
all Your Creatures lest some of them may hasten with insolence
against me or transgress the bounds. Honoured is he who is in
Your Protection and Blessed is Your Name.”

Dua for Hardship

Allah puts His slave in hardship either to test his faith in Allah
and bring him even closer to Him by rewarding the slave for
his patience or to punish the slave for his sins.

Do the people think that they will be left to say, “We believe”
and they will not be tried? But We have certainly tried those
before them, and Allah will surely make evident those who are
truthful, and He will surely make evident the liars. Quran 29: 2-
3
We will surely test you through some fear, hunger, and loss of
money, lives, and crops. Give good news to the steadfast.
Quran 2:155
Hardship and adversity is also decreed by Allah as a cleansing
of our souls for sins we have already committed. As
a result, some of the bad things that happen to us are a direct
result of sins we have committed.
Anything bad that happens to you is a consequence of your
own deeds, and He overlooks many (of your sins).
Quran 42:30
The Prophet (PBUH) said, “Whoever Allah wishes good for, He
inflicts him (with hardship).” [Bukhari].
To get through hardship, whether its because of one’s sins or
a trial, one must get close to Allah. One must establish five
times salah, constantly ask for forgiveness, do adhkaar and
make dua. Most of all, one must be patient and realise that
everything is from Allah.
“… and give glad tidings to As-Sabirun (the patient).” Who,
when afflicted with calamity, say: “Truly! To Allah we belong
and truly, to Him we shall return.” They are those on whom
are the Salawat (i.e. who are blessed and will be forgiven) from
their Lord, and (they are those who) receive His Mercy, and it
is they who are the guided ones. Quran 2: 155-157
Who is the One who rescues those who become desperate
and call upon Him, relieves adversity, and makes you
inheritors of the earth? Is it another god with God? Rarely do
you take heed. Quran 27: 62
For truly with hardship comes ease; truly with hardship comes
ease. Quran 94: 5-6
Below are a number of supplications that very effective in gaining
Allah’s mercy at time of hardship

Laa ilaaha illaa anta subh`aanaka innii kuntu minaz zaalimiin.
Quran 21: 87
There is no illaaah but You (O Allah), glory to You, Indeed I
was the wrong doer
Vitues: Recite this dua as many times you can every day until Allah
has granted you relief.
1) It is narrated by Hadhrat Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (r.a.) that the Nabi
(PBUH) had just mentioned about the best of the Du’as (Duaas),
coincidentally, one Bedouin came and engaged him into discussion
and took lot of time. (After some time) the Nabi (PBUH) stood up
and took his way towards his home and I also followed him. When
the Nabi (PBUH) reached near the house, I feared that he may
enter into the house and I may remain as is, so I started walking
heavily. On noticing the sound of my steps, the Nabi asked, ‘Who
is there, Abu Ishaq?’ I said, ‘Yes’. He asked, ‘What is the matter?’
I said that you had mentioned about the best of the duaas but then
that Bedouin engaged you. The Nabi (PBUH) said, ‘Oh yes, it was
the duaa that Zun-noon (Yunus A.S.) said when he was inside the
stomach of the fish (the abov dua).
Any Muslim who invokes Allaah for anything by this du’a, Allaah
will grant his wish.
2. It is narrated in the book of Ibn Abi Hatim that whoever make
du’a (Duaa) through the du’a of Hadrat Yunus (A.S.), his du’a will
surely be granted.
3. Hadhrat Abu Saeed (r.a.) says that after this verse, there is a
statement of Allaah that “We help Believers in this way” (verse 88,
surah 21)It is narrated by Ibn Jareer that the Nabi ‫سلم و عليه هللا صلى‬
Said that the Name of Allaah through which if He is invoked, He
accepts the duaa and grants what is asked for. That name is in the
du’a of Hadhrat Yunus (A.S.).
5. Hadhrat Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (r.a.) narrated that I asked the
Nabi ‫ سلم و عليه هللا صلى‬that whether the duaa of the Hadhrat Yunus
(A.S.) was only for him or it is general for all Muslims who recite it.
The Nabi ‫ سلم و عليه هللا صلى‬said, ‘Did you not read in the Qur’aan that
We gave him respite (relief) from grief and We give respite to the
Believers in a similar way.’ Thus, whoever invokes Allaah through
those words, Allaah has promised to grant him relief.
6. It is narrated in Ibn Abi Hatim that Hadhrat Kathir bin Sa’eed said
that I asked Imam Hasan Basari (r.a.), ‘What is the Isme Azam (the
Great Name) of Allaah through which if He is requested to grant
prayer, He grants it?’ He said, ‘Brother, did you not read the
statement of Allaah’ and he recited the same two verses and said,
‘My cousin, this is the same Isme Azam (the Great Name) of Allaah
through which if He is invoked, He accepts the prayer. And if He is
asked for something, He grants it.
(Tafsir Ibn Kathir 3/395-396)
7. It is narrated in a Hadith that whoever recites the above
mentioned Ayat 40 times during illness and if he is died in the state
of illness, he will be rewarded with the status of forty martyrs and if
he cures of his illness, his all sins will be forgiven.

2)
Tawakkaltu a`lal h`ayyil lazii laa yamuutu alh`amdulillaahil

takbiiraa.
I believe in and put my hopes in the Ever-living entity Who is
never going to die. All praises be to Allaah Who neither begets
nor is there anyone who is partner in His regime. He does not
need any partner to assist Him, as He is not weak. Shower high
praises on Him.
Virtue: Hadhrat Abu Huraira (r.a.) narrated that once I went out
with the Prophet ‫ سلم و عليه هللا صلى‬with my hand in his hand. The
Prophet ‫ سلم و عليه هللا صلى‬was passed by a person who was in utter
hopelessness. The Prophet ‫ سلم و عليه هللا صلى‬asked the reason of
his condition. He replied that poverty and destitution had made me
so. The Prophet ‫سلم و عليه هللا صلى‬s aid, ‘I will tell you some words, if
you recite them your disease and poverty will diminish. (Those
words were the above mentioned duaa.) After sometime when the
Prophet ‫ سلم و عليه هللا صلى‬Revisited that place, he found him in better
condition and this made the Prophet ‫ سلم و عليه هللا صلى‬glad. He said
to the Prophet ‫ سلم و عليه هللا صلى‬that he was reciting those words with
frequently since the time when the Prophet ‫ سلم و عليه هللا صلى‬taught
him.

Evil Eye (Nazar); Ahadith and Cure

According to Islamic tradition the “evil eye” is real, as Prophet

Muhammad (‫)سلم و عليه هللا صلى‬. said: “The evil eye is real. The evil eye
is from two sources:
1) the evil eye from mankind 2) the evil eye from Jinn
The evil eye from mankind is confirmed in many narrations, as Abu
Sated (radiallahu anh) said the Prophet (‫ )سلم و عليه هللا صلى‬said to
seek refuge from jinn’s and the evil eye from mankind. (At-tirmidhi,
2058)
As for evil eye from jinn’s, it has been narrated ny Umm Salamah
(radiallahu anhaa) that the Prophet (‫ )سلم و عليه هللا صلى‬saw in her
house a slave girl and in her face was sa faa’ah. upon which the
Prophet (‫ )سلم و عليه هللا صلى‬said: ” Seek Ruqyah for her, for verily she
is afflicted with a look (evil eye). ” (Al-Bukhari, 5739)
The scholars have said “As-sa-faa’ah” is the evil eye from Jinn’s.
The reason for the evil eye is mostly because of envy (envy is to
wish for the prevention of bounty for another person, even though
the envier doesn’t wish for this bounty). The reality of envy is the
result of hatred and malice, which is the result of anger. ( Fath Al-
Haq Al-Mubeen, 219) The evil eye is like an arrow or
spear that leaves the soul of the envier and goes to the person that
is envied. It afflicts the person envied at times and sometimes it
doesn’t. When it doesn’t afflict him, it is because of the protective
methods he uses (whether supplications, seeking refuge, etc.)
Also, when it doesn’t. afflict him, the evil eye can return to the
envier. ( The Medicine of the Prophet (‫ )سلم و عليه هللا صلى‬, 138)
What is an important fact to know is that the evil eye has no effect
except by Allah’s will. A man can give himself the evil eye and he
can also give it to others. It can afflict someone without even being
seen by the envier. For example, a blind man cannot see a person,
but he can still cast the evil eye, or perhaps if the person is not
around and they are described to the envier without being seen by
him, it can afflict that person. It can also be afflicted by one being
amazed at himself without being envious to himself or others. The
evil eye can be done by anyone, even a loved one or a righteous
person.
So, it is incumbent on each and every one of us to take the
necessary precautions and try to prevent being affected by the evil
eye, and to say the supplications and remembrance upon seeing
something amazing and good. (Fath Al-Haq Al-Mubeen, 198) If
any thing were to overtake the divine decree (al-qadar) it would be
the evil eye.” (Muslim, 2188)

The Prophet (‫)سلم و عليه هللا صلى‬, said after destiny( al-qadar ) my
Ummah will die mostly due to Evil Eye.

Evil Eye (Nazar) takes Man to the graveyard and Camel to the Pot.

Evil Eye makes one fall down from the mountain.

Islam teaches Muslims to seek protection and refuge in Allah from
the evils of envy through the recitation of prayers, verses from the
Quran and supplications. The hijaab is also key element for
protection against the evil eye. And since women are most likely to
be afflicted by it, then it is one of the reasons why Allah made the
hijaab is obligatory on them – as a means of protection- that is why
it is forbidden for believing women to display any of their beauty in
front of non-mahrams (any person that a woman is able to marry),
as Allah says in the quran:

“And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their visio

n and guard their private
parts and not expose their adornment except that which [ne
cessarily] appears thereof
and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests
and not expose their
adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husb
ands’ fathers, their sons,
their husbands’ sons, their brothers, their brothers’ sons, thei
r sisters’ sons, their
women, that which their right hands possess, or those male
attendants having no
physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the pri
vate aspects of women.
And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they
conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah
in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might
succeed.”

[Surah Noor 24:31]

The Treatment of the Evil Eye

There are categories of treatment for those afflicted with the evil
eye.

The first category: Treatments before the evil eye occurs:

There are many types, which is as follows:

* Protect yourself and those whom you fear for from it with
remembrances, supplications and seeking refuge that is in
accordance with the Qur’an and Sunnah, as is mentioned in the
first category for the treatment of magic.

* supplicate for whom you fear might be afflicted with it (if you see
something within yourself, your wealth, your son, your brother or
anything that amazes you) with blessing. From the statement of
the Prophet (saws)

” If anyone says from his brother what amazes him, let him
supplicate for him with blessings: This is what Allah wills, there is
no strength except with Allah, O Allah bless him with it. ”

* Guard anything or anyone that is attractive and may be a recipient

of the evil eye. This means:

1) When a person has a beautiful family he should guard them by

seeking protection from Allah for them, teaching and commanding
them to do so, and also by dressing them properly not to expose
their bodies or beauty so as not to be envied and affected by the
evil eye. The Prophet (saws) used to seek protection for Hassan
and Hussein by saying:

” I seek refuge for both of you in the perfect words of Allah and from
every satan, vermin, and from every evil eye.”

2) If someone has wealth, he should guard it by asking Allah to

bless and protect it and be thankful to Allah.

3) If someone has good news and he knows people will envy him
because of it, he should guard it by keeping it secret.

NOTE: If you know a person is famous for being envious and is

known to affect people with the evil eye, it is important to keep
away from him.he Second Category: Treatments after the affliction
of the evil eye:

1) If the person who causes the evil eye is known, command him
to make ablution (wudu) and then the afflicted person should
shower with the water form the ablution. (sunan abu Dawud 419).
