CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTION

A. BACKGROUND
Marketing is one of the main activities that need to be carried out by Companies
both goods and services companies in an effort to maintain the viability of their
businesses. That is because marketing is one of the company's activities, which is
directly related to consumers. Then marketing activities can be interpreted as human
activities that take place in relation to the market. In this era of increasingly
competitive business competition, every business person who wants to win the
competition in market competition will pay full attention to the strategy that is being
carried out. Products that are marketed are made through a quality process that will
have a number of features that can increase customer satisfaction or use of the product.
Thus customers are willing and willing to return to enjoy the products offered
by the company and become loyal customers for the company. Meanwhile, to be able
to distribute quality in the service sector is not easy. Therefore, in the process of
distributing goods to consumers there must be full attention from the top marketing
management to the lowest level of employees.

B. OBJECTIVES
One of the main problems that becomes an obstacle in marketing is the number
of competitors in the market itself, both from similar products and from other products.
This is a big responsibility that must be won by the company if you want to continue
to exist in business competition. Increasingly competitive competition and changes
that continue to occur must be made a lesson by marketing management in order to
proactively anticipate changes that occur both for the present and future.
CHAPTER II

A` Time and Place

In the Internship program which was carried out for 3 months starting from
January 1 to March 31, 2019 there were many tasks that I did in the Internship both in
accordance with the competencies of my department and other tasks given by the
company.

B. Material on Job Training

1. Display goods

The definition of display or understanding of product display is the arrangement of

merchandise in certain places with the aim of attracting consumers' interests, making it
easier for consumers to see and choose and ultimately buy the products or goods offered.

2. Wrapping of Goods

In addition to displaying goods at Lebak Bulus Carrefour Trans Retail, I was given the
task of packaging goods.

Wrapping items such as a simple wrapping products sold and wrapping it using tools.

For examples of wrapping products include: fresh meat, fast food, and fruit

3. Weighing Goods and Making Barcodes

I was also given the task of weighing things and making barcodes.

If consumers want to buy meat, fish, bread and fruit, consumers are required to weigh the
items they want to buy first so that the prices of these goods can be made
Every product has a different code, so every time we have to memorize the product code
or look at the notes.

4. Paging
Paging is to inform all the people in Carrefour transmart.
Paging is usually used to informing the ongoing event at Carrefour transmitting the
machinations, call a consultant and other employees that company or division are needed
them, nform lost items, etc.adgwgs
5. Make a PriceCard
Besides paging, I was also given the task of making PriceCard.
The street vendors are taught to make pricecards using RV.
6. Packing of goods
Packing goods helps the cashier put groceries into plastic in order to expedite the
transaction process
7. Refill goods
Namely replenishing goods in warehouses that have been used up in stores provided,

CHAPTER III
Problem and Finding

In this chapter I will discuss the findings that I encountered while carrying out
PRAKERIN at the place I chose, namely Transmart Carefour located in Lebak Bulus.

From what I experienced while running PRAKERIN for 3 months, in fact I didn't
experience much, because everything that was taught from the staff to me and my friends
was very clear. However, there may be some findings and problems, which are as follows:

1. I am not permitted to use the cash register to serve consumers

even though I really wanted to try to operate the cash register as a lesson

2. In some divisions, when I ask staff for assignments, there is no work to be done.

3. In the cashier division use more greetings and questions to consumers, compared to
other retailers such as examples:

‘Good morning / afternoon / evening / evening’

‘Is there a Mega Bank card?’

4. When a division is busy, PKL students are often assigned the division even though it
is not on schedule

CHAPTER IV
A. CONCLUSION

After completing the apprenticeship at Lebak Bulus Carrefour which started on the stairs
2 JANUARY to 31 MARCH 2019 we gained a lot of insight and education and guidance
during the implementation of the program and the activities we took the conclusions:

With the existence of this Internship, the internship participants can get enough
information with a variety of experiences and add motivation for participants to deepen
their knowledge in the field of business and industrial world.

After the implementation of the apprenticeship it can be concluded that between theories
obtained in schools and business practices, business has many theoretical differences that
are more difficult than direct practice.

B SUGGESTION

After we know some conclusions, we hope that these suggestions can be accepted by
Carrefour Lebak Bulus as follows:

a. The merit of Carrefour Lebak Bulus further increases employee discipline so that the
goals of the company can be achieved well

b. The service must be improved again so that customers become satisfied and more and
more customers.

c. In the prakerin process it takes discipline to do it.

d. PKL students should be given transportation / food money
