Follow-up activity
On sheets of paper, write several questions appropriate for the classroom starting with Can
I…? or Can we …?. For example, Can I open a window? Can we play a game? Can I borrow a
pencil? Can we listen again? Stick these questions around the board. Tell the children they
should all ask one of these questions before the end of the lesson.

Answers
1 Join the words to make questions. 5 marks
1 It’s not raining now. Can we go outside and play? [1 mark]
2 I forgot my pencil case. Can I borrow a pen? [1 mark]
3 I’m thirsty! Can I have some water, please? [1 mark]
4 We all finished the test. Can we play a game? [1 mark]
5 Look, a new film! Can we go and see it please? [1 mark]

2 Write questions about the situations. Begin each question 5 marks


with Can.
Example answers:
1 Can you say that again, please? [1 mark]
2 Can we go to Alexandria? [1 mark]
3 Can we have an ice cream, please? [1 mark]
4 Can we go to the park? [1 mark]
5 Can I talk to my cousin? [1 mark]

3 Write four questions you often ask your mother or father. 4 marks

Give one mark for each question which makes sense and
uses Can I or Can we.
