At the end of the lesson, with the given varied activities, the children with at least 85% accuracy are
expected to:

1. Add and subtract money using the peso sign and decimal point correctly
2. Count money correctly
3. Solve simple problem involving money

B. Structure of the Lesson

Day 1

- Ask question about the monkey (ex. What the monkeys eat? , Can we also eat the food of
monkey? , Where can we see the food of monkey? , What we will use to buy something?
- Game: Market to Market
- Group the class into 2 groups. The teacher will ask to buy ex: 5 pencils and 5 notebooks each
number of the group will help to bring it and put it in the basket. The first group can do wins.
Day 2

- Let them listen to the story about money


- Lead them solve the problem using the steps

Day 3

- Board works: teacher will show sets of bills and coins


- Ask them to write he amount of money on their show me board
- Let the children give their answer within 20 sec.

Day 4

- Do the worksheet (prepared by the teacher)

- Drill: Multiplication basic facts. Use flash cards

B. Structure of the Lesson

Day 1

- Talk about Philippine fruits. Show pictures of different Philippine fruits


- Ask question (ex. What is your favorite fruit? Why?)
- What character traits do you show if you use/buy our own Philippine product?
- Present a problem
- Ask question (ex. How many mango seedlings did the DENR give to each barangay?)
- Explain how to multiply numbers with regrouping using different method

Day 2

- Work with partners. Find the product. Use the lattice method
- Present their works in the class
Day 3

- Individual works: using show me board, ask pupils to find the product. Show the solution on
their show me board.
(This is in the form of a contest. The first one to give the answer will receive a reward)

Day 4

- Do the worksheet (prepared by the teacher)

- Read and solve (using distributive property of multiplication over addition).

Day 1

- Have a review of rounding numbers


- Group works: each leader draws a number card from a box. Then, the team rounds the number
in the card to the highest place value and write the answer on the board. The team which
finishes first with the correct answer wins.
- Ask question (ex. How do we round numbers?)

Day 2

- Show Popsicle sticks on class. Ask: about how many Popsicle sticks do you think that holding?
- Explain that what they gave are just estimate. They did not actually count the number of
Popsicle sticks.
- Present this situation
(The garden club is selling waling-waling orchid at Php. 7,645 a pot for fund raising. If 123 were
sold, about how much money did the club get?)
- Ask: Have you seen orchid? Orchid are beautiful flowers
- What can these waling- waling orchids do to our surroundings?
- Analyze the problem
- How do we estimate product?
- Lead the pupils to estimate using the steps:
- Do activity in the book p.186

Day 3

- Individual works: using shows me board, teacher will paste different situation on the board, let
the pupils find the estimate product for each situation. They will show their answer within 1
min.

Day 4

- Group activity: Distribute activity sheet to each group. Tell them to estimate the products.
- Let the leader of the group report on their works.

- Estimate the product. Complete the table.
