• Relations between Mongolia and the Philippines were established on October 11, 1973.
• The Philippines has a consulate in Ulan Bataar while Mongolia has a consulate in Makati, Metro Manila.
• Mongolian President Natsagiin Bagabandi made a state visit to the Philippines from September 1–4, 2000, the first
Mongolian head of state to visit the Philippines.
POLITICAL ISSUE
• Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte sparked another round of controversy this week when he suggested at a
press conference on Tuesday the possibility that Mongolia and Turkey could join the ten-member Association of
Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
• But specifies “location in the recognized geographical region of Southeast Asia” as one of the four criteria for
application and admission to ASEAN.
• Duterte’s bilateral meeting with Mongolian Prime Minister Jargatulgyn Erdenebat at Beijing.
• The two leaders also talked about enhancing political and institutional relationships, apart from Association of
Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and other regional developments during their bilateral meeting,
• The two sides agreed to hold exchange of visits among the senior officials of their respective countries in order to
explore opportunities to expand economic, political, and cultural ties.
• PHILIPPINES-MONGOLIA TALKS AFFIRM BROADER COOPERATION
• March 19, 2013 in Manila affirmed the commitment of their respective governments to promote the
comprehensive development of bilateral relations between the two countries
• The delegations discussed possible agreements on labor cooperation, education, tourism and Philippine
investments on mining and construction.
Economic Relations
Trade relations were established when a partnership agreement was signed by the Philippine Chamber of
Commerce and Industry and the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry as announced on a
statement on September 14, 2012.
The agreement provides for the promotion of trade relations, exchange of information, strengthening business
contacts as well as the establishment of a Philippine-Mongolia Business Council
The 1st Policy Consultation between the two countries was held in Manila on March 19, 2013. The two countries
agreed to strengthen ties. It was agreed to increase cooperation in various Fields which include trade and
investment, labor tourism, culture and sports
Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) has signed a partnership agreement with the Mongolian
National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI),
The PCCI signed a memorandum of understanding with MNCCI during the visit of PCCI officials to Mongolia on July
31 to Aug. 6.
“The cooperation agreement outlined possible areas of cooperation between the Philippines and Mongolia. It
provides for the promotion of trade relations, exchange of information, strengthening business contacts as well as

• The Mongolian Immigration Agency, launched a campaign to register Filipinos illegally residing in Mongolia from
July 1 to August 1, 2013. There are 441 Filipinos registered in Mongolia as of July 2013
Philippines and Denmark
Diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Denmark were established on 28 September 1946.
In the past, the Philippine Embassy in the United Kingdom was responsible for the Philippines’ relations with
Denmark.
In 1979, this responsibility was transferred to the Philippine Embassy in Stockholm, Sweden, which, at that time,
also handled the Philippines’ diplomatic links with the other Nordic countries (Norway and Finland).
When the Philippine Embassy in Oslo, Norway was established in 30 April 2007, jurisdiction over Denmark was
transferred to the latter.
The Danish Embassy in Manila re-opened in 2015 and is located at the Embassy of Denmark in Manila at Bonifacio
Global City, Taguig City
Political Relations
Denmark–Philippines relations refer to the historical and current relations between Denmark and the Philippines.
Denmark is represented by their embassy in Manila, and the Philippines is represented in Denmark, through its
embassy in Oslo, Norway. The Philippines also has a consulate in Copenhagen.
Diplomatic relations are described as strong, close, cordial and friendly. The Philippines called Denmark a
significant ally in its renewable energy resources and wind energy. The Philippines enjoys strong maritime relations
with Denmark.
In 2002, Denmark decided to close her embassy in the Philippines because of financial reasons, but it was
reopened in 2014

Economic Relations
TRADE and industry officials are positioning the Philippines as Denmark’s gateway into the Asean, particularly in
fish export and import, as well as Fishing technology.
lllll In terms of improving bilateral trade, Danish companies have a big potential to set up trading headquarters or
operations in the Philippines because of the opening up of the Asean market, according to Perlada. “I think the
Philippines is a very
logical choice for Denmark to consider, as a platform for Asean.”
Philippines has been able to leverage its free-trade agreements (FTA) via Asean, making it now a net exporter of
frozen smoked salmon.
Denmark stands as the 32nd-biggest importing source, with the Philippines bringing in goods worth $123
million from Denmark.
In 2005, with help from Danish International Development Agency, a wind farm was established in Cagayan. In
2010, The Philippine North wind Power Development Corp developed the wind farm, with help from Danish
investors. The turbine materials was also shipped from Denmark

Fiesta, which provides wholesome entertainment, food stalls featuring Filipino delicacies, and fun activities for all
ages.
• They also organize Philippine Independence day celebration parties every year
