The pre-submission seminar serves several purposes: to ensure high quality independent research was conducted; to verify the candidate can present their research; to provide feedback from experienced researchers; and to advise on final thesis submission. The candidate must have published at least one paper in a refereed journal approved by the university and provide evidence. They will present their work in a 20-30 minute presentation covering: an introduction; literature review; research gap/opportunity and hypothesis; objectives; methods; results and discussion; conclusion and future scope; and paper published/submitted.

GUIDELINES FOR PRE-SUBMISSION SEMINAR OF THESIS FOR Ph.D./M.

The purpose of the pre-submission seminar is to:
 ensure that the candidate has conducted high quality, independent, and original research;
 verify that the candidate understands and can effectively present the research he/she has
conducted;
 provide constructive feedback from experienced and informed researchers on the near-
finished research;
 provide advice to assist the candidate in preparing his/her final submission of the thesis;
and
further develop the candidate’s skills in presenting arguments clearly and effectively.
The Ph.D. candidate will be allowed to submit the final thesis, if and only if, the candidate
has published at least one research paper in a refereed Journal as approved by the University and has
produced evidence for the same in the form of acceptance letter or re-print. The candidate shall
make a presentation of the work done by him/her which shall be open to all faculty members and
research students before the thesis is bound and submitted for evaluation.
Guidelines:
1. The draft copy of thesis should be brought in hard copy form. (Spiral Binding)
2. The student should make presentation of around 20-30 minutes. It should include the
following:
i. Brief introduction of the topic of research and statement of the problem
ii. Brief overview of literature search
iii. Clearly identifiable research gap or an opportunity to conduct thesis research and
research hypothesis
iv. Objective of thesis
v. Methods and materials
vi. Results and Discussion
vii. Conclusion and future scope
viii. Paper published/accepted/submitted
ix. Bibliography/References
3. The hard copy of personal paper published/accepted/submitted should also be brought.
